Job Description:

The State University of New York at Fredonia seeks qualified applicants for a Full-Time Lecturer in the Music Industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in Music Industry including: Pathway to Success. Music Industry Foundations, The Business of Music, History of the Music Industry, and other related courses. A master's degree by 8/15/2024 and Music Industry experience plus demonstrated excellence in Music Industry teaching is required.

KEY RESPONSBILITIES

Reporting to the Chair, the successful candidate will:

  • Teach a wide range of undergraduate courses in Music Industry, including: Pathway to Success. Music Industry Foundations, The Business of Music, History of the Music Industry, and other related courses;

  • Contribute to curriculum development and refinement;

  • Provide academic advisement to students;

  • Participate in committees and provide service to the department, college, university, and/or profession;

  • Be aware of, understand, and follow all university policies.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively, and in a collegial and professional manner, with students, faculty, and staff;

  • The ability to multi-task, meet goals and deadlines;

  • Demonstrated commitment to the university, division, and profession.

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree by 8/15/24;

  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching;

  • Music Industry experience;

  • Has a successful record of Music Industry accomplishments;

  • Demonstrated commitment and ability to work with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff and constituents in support of campus and department missions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous teaching experience in teaching the above courses;

  • Global knowledge of the entertainment industry;

  • Other relevant music industry experiences.

Additional Information:

This is a full-time, term appointed, non-tenure track position beginning August 2024 at a salary of $48,396-$50,000, commensurate with experience.
