RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Full Time Lead Teacher works under the direction of the principal, with staff, students, and community to ensure a high-quality educational program and to formulate and accomplish the school mission. He/She will assist the principal in providing for an environment of high expectation for staff and students.

MINIMUM CRITERIA:

• Minimum of four years successful teaching experience.

• Demonstrates leadership skills.

• Demonstrates professionalism in all daily routines particularly state curriculum standards and system pacing guides.

• Collaborates well with others.

• Willingness to accept additional responsibilities when asked.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in providing effective leadership in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating the instructional program.

• Assist the principal in personnel functions.

• Assist in preparing and administering the school budget and supervising school finances.

• Assist in ensuring that students receive appropriate placement and services.

• Demonstrates proficiency in written and oral communication.

• Assist in providing a safe, orderly environment that facilitates teaching and learning.

• Assist in providing a climate of high expectations for staff and students.

• Assist with student behavioral concerns

• Assist in classroom instruction as needed.

• Work with small groups of students as directed by principal.

• Assist in implementation of Mentor Program, orientation of new personnel, and any other activities related to equipping new personnel for a positive start.
