Position Title: Full Time Kindergarten Teacher

The Columbus Torah Academy in Columbus, Ohio (www.torahacademy.org), is looking for a full time Kindergarten Teacher for the 2024-2025 academic school year. Columbus Torah Academy, an independent K-12 Jewish day school accredited by ISACS, is located on the east side of Columbus on a private campus.

The school is dedicated to developing educated, contributing, active, aware members of contemporary American and Jewish societies. The open position is for a full-time kindergarten teacher, with benefits. Columbus Torah Academy is an independent college preparatory school with approximately 140 students in the lower school (grades K-6). Our classes are small, and our teachers enjoy getting to know their students well.

The Kindergarten teacher's primary duties will be to:
Provide high quality instruction in reading, math, writing, science and social studies
Provide small group instruction in reading and math
Create daily lesson plans and instructional units following Ohio Learning Standards
Collect data and make instructional decisions based on the data
Work collaboratively with the Kindergarten team, which includes a teaching assistant and a Judaic Studies teacher
Work collaboratively with general studies teachers in other grades
Identify and work toward your own professional goals under the coaching un an instructional leader (principal or coach)
Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal
Communicate with parents on an ongoing basis
Prioritize providing hands-on learning activities to students with high levels of student engagement

Desired Skills and Expertise:
Early Childhood Teaching License or equivalent coursework or experience strongly preferred; PK-3 OR math OR reading specialist designation
Preferred Orton-Gillingham or DRA or Fountas and Pinnell trained
Preferred Understanding of project-based or experiential learning
Has a growth mindset and belief that all kids can achieve
