Job Summary
Job Summary
Pinewood School is seeking a full-time Junior High (Grades 7 & 8) Social Studies teacher for the 2024-25 school year. The individual in this role is a professional educator who is passionate about teaching and meeting the needs of Junior High students. Responsibilities
Teach 7th-Grade American History and 8th-Grade World History
Develop effective instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students
Design and implement curriculum for a student-centered classroom
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and respected
Use technology effectively to communicate and to enhance teaching and learning experiences
Communicate effectively with parents on a regular basis regarding students' needs and/or progress
Attend regular monthly faculty, grade level, and academic meetings
Participate in school events Physical Demands
Ability to spend long hours sitting, using computers and office equipment.
Ability to exchange/communicate information accurately and effectively with others in person and on the phone
Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Education, History or related field is required; Master's degree and/or a teaching credential is desired
Minimum of three years of experience teaching a junior high school history class; experience teaching at an independent school is desired
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
Proficient in Google Workspace Compensation & Benefits Salary range is $81,390 - $144,300 annually and is based on education and years of teaching experience. Pinewood offers comprehensive benefits to employees.
