Responsibilities

• Verifies patient insurance coverage prior to patient appointments and ensures the necessary procedures are covered by a patients' insurance plan.

• Obtains all necessary medical information, authorizations, and verifications from patients prior to their appointment to ensure patients get on treatment in a timely manner.

• Submits prior authorizations to insurances in a timely manner through payer specific portals and vendors for assigned clients.

• Obtains PCP referrals, coordination of benefits and updating of patient cost share prior to appointment.

• Utilize portals, phone calls and fax to communicate with insurance companies, providers, pharmacies, and patients regarding insurance verification, patient appointments, benefit coverage and prior authorizations.

• Follow up with pending insurance authorizations and ensure all interactions with patients, providers, pharmacies and insurance companies have been properly obtained and documented in the medical record.

• Schedule and reschedule patient appointments, as needed.

• Perform other job related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• At least 1 year of work experience with verifying insurances
