The program director must be responsible for: the structure and daily operation of the program; the organization, administration, periodic review and evaluation, continued development, and effectiveness of program curricula; and ensuring the effectiveness of all clinical affiliates is maintained.
Other duties will include: 1) Coordinates and supervises within the clinical agencies; Recommends clinical agencies for use; Supervises and evaluates the quality of clinical instruction; Assists faculty in the evaluation of learning experiences within clinical agencies; Assists faculty in their orientation of the staff in the clinical agencies as to the student's role, program continuum and experience desired; Arranges for the orientation of new faculty to the clinical agency; Recommends clinical assignments of faculty; 2) Assists faculty in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating courses; Holds regularly scheduled faculty meetings; Promotes, organizes, coordinates and develops ways and means for improvement of instruction and curriculum changes; Schedules and meets with advisory committee; Teaches and evaluates courses assigned; Interviews prospective faculty; Evaluates program applications & interviews students for program admission; Recommends class schedules; Orients/mentors new faculty to teaching responsibilities; Attends professional meetings to maintain currency; Recommends necessary supplies, equipment and budget monies to the Dean after consultation with faculty; Meets regularly with Division Dean for the purpose of planning and information sharing; Is directly responsible to the Dean of Health & Wellness Sciences.
