Full-Time Dietary Aide

For this exciting role as Dietary Aide, we are seeking an individual who has a passion for working with seniors at a long term care community. Responsibilities include assisting in the preparation and serving of food using portion control procedures, ensuring that food and supplies are available and assist in inventorying and storing incoming food, and assisting in the cleaning and sanitizing of work areas and utensils.

Requirements for the position are:

  • Meet all local and health regulations.

  • Experience in Long-Term care setting preferred, will train.

  • Pass Post-employment physical exam if required. This includes: drug screening, criminal background check and reference check.

Primary Accountabilities * Ensures the delivery of quality patient care for the shift and participates as a member of the unit leadership team in focusing on care delivery for the unit. * Collaborates with physicians and other departments determining patients' needs for nursing care and in treatment planning, resolves and/or facilitating resolution of patient related problems. * Ensures a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors. Communicates significant information to other persons responsible for, or involved in, the care of the patient, and coordinates the patient and family/significant other education process based on assessed need. * Collaborates with the Manager to ensure unit compliance with guidelines of accrediting and regulatory agencies, unit standards of care and practice, and organization policies and procedures. * Contributes to patient satisfaction as evidenced by positive patient satisfaction scores. * Maintains unit staffing per established guidelines. * Demonstrates fiscal responsibility toward the positive financial performance of the department. Education: * Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing * BSN required as of October 1, 2016 or actively enrolled in a BSN program with completion by the end of 2020. Licensure: * Current Florida RN licensure or endorsement Certification: * Must hold current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintain. * National certification in relevant specialty preferred.
