Work six (6) Saturdays per year - one Saturday every other month, rotating with other full-time staff

Brief Job Summary: Develop and present preschool-age programs, lessons, workshops and outreach events.
Serve as backup for other grade-level programs, collection development, teen volunteer management and other youth services responsibilities. Responsible for receiving and/or cataloging new youth materials for the collection.
Works under the supervision of the children's and teen services librarians, and plays an integral role in the library's youth services team, to successfully implement public services, policies, procedures and programs in accordance with the library's mission.
Monitors the condition of the children's department. Provides reference and reader's advisory services to all library users, with a focus on services to children, teens, parents and teachers.
Strong focus on children's programming and literature, customer service, technology experience and teamwork. Requires the application of elementary principles of library and information sciences. A complete job description is available upon request.
Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one (1) or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
