Job Description:

POSITION: Full-time Associate Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations: Department of Institutional Advancement. This is a full-time, benefited, Non-Unit Professional position, 37.5 hours/ week.

Position Summary: The Associate Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations will report directly to the Director of Grants Development. This individual will participate in the college's solicitation of philanthropic support from private and public sponsors, with a core objective of growing revenue, corporate sponsorship, public grants, and other innovative forms of development. The individual will participate in implementing a solicitation strategy that includes prospect identification, cultivation, proposal writing, and stewardship.

The Associate Director must have excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience in grants development for an educational institution or a track record of philanthropic program building is preferred.

While an integral part of the Development team, this individual must be self-motivated, goal-driven, and able to work with a high degree of independence. The Associate Director must be comfortable and confident in dealing with college leadership, corporate and foundation executives, and high-capacity donors.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Corporate and Foundation Relations / Grants Development

  • Coordinate with the Institutional Advancement team and academic departments to manage the college's opportunities with corporate and foundation funders. Work with staff to develop funding proposals and provide all of the documentation required by prospective donors.

  • Assist in the review and preparation of proposals submitted to state and federal sponsors. Gather supporting data and documentation for grant proposals, write drafts and edit narratives, and ensure application packages are complete and compliant.

  • Participate in the preparation, coordination, and submission of required reports and responses to sponsor requests for data and project information during the award period, including but not limited to demographic/statistical data, flow charts, maps, and technical material.

  • Develop professional relationships with prospective donors and an effective stewardship effort with existing donors. Manage the timely reporting of progress and evaluation of all grant-funded programs.

  • Maintain collaborative team relationships with peers and colleagues to effectively contribute to the working group's achievement of goals, and to help foster a positive work environment.

  • Perform other similar and related duties as required or directed.

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree and four or more years of related experience with evidence of progressive success and responsibilities in one or more of the following: corporate and foundation relations, grant development, corporate sales, marketing, or public relations.

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.

  • Experience working with and sensitivity to diverse constituencies of various social identities (ethnic, racial, religious, economic, educational backgrounds and abilities, sexual orientation, and gender expression).

  • Excellent writing, communication, organization, and presentation skills. Demonstrated interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship/environment.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office software. Familiarity with Internet search techniques. Confidence in the ability to learn new software as necessary (e.g., the department's donor records software, Raiser's Edge).

  • Proven ability to work independently and take initiative in carrying out assigned tasks reliably and accurately with minimal direction.

  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of financial, personnel, and payroll information.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment of rapidly changing priorities, handle multiple tasks, and consistently meet deadlines while maintaining keen attention to detail.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in writing proposals and/or drafting strong cases for support.

  • Experience and familiarity with Massachusetts State proposal and award policies and procedures.

  • Experience and familiarity with MA community colleges.

  • Bilingual or Bicultural (Spanish and English);

  • Experience working with and supporting a culturally diverse population

SALARY: Anticipated salary range is $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 annually with complete fringe benefit package including competitive health insurance, dental insurance, basic life insurance, long-term disability insurance, paid sick, vacation and personal leave, educational benefits for employee/spouse/dependents, and excellent retirement benefits
