The Software Engineer will be responsible for creating scalable, robust features and processes that leverage cloud technologies at their core. As an integral member of a cross-functional agile team, the Software Engineer will participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle from requirements definition with Product Management to acceptance testing with a Quality Engineer to maintaining solutions in production environments.

By providing leadership and guidance in development best practices, the Software Engineer will help ensure the team produces high-quality and well-designed solutions. The Software Engineer will learn and implement new technologies on the job, and will teach and mentor others.

Job Duties:

Collaborate with team members to produce proven scalable, performant, and maintainable solutions

Participate in design and code reviews

Investigate and resolve issues in development, test, and production environments

Implement new technologies and techniques to meet business requirements

Qualifications:

Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar degree required, or equivalent industry experience

7+ years relevant industry experience

Expertise with (or demonstrated ability to learn) our core development tools & technologies:

Required: C#, Python, and/or React.js

Preferred (some but not all of the following):AWS serverless technologies (AWS Lambda, Amazon DynamoDB, and AWS Step Functions), IaaS tooling (CloudFormation or Terraform), Postgres, Snowflake, EMR, Spark, Javascript, AJAX, SQL Server, CSS, Redshift, Jest, Yarn, Cake, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform

Experience with Agile software development

Working knowledge of software design patterns and anti-patterns

Excellent interpersonal & communication skills and an ability to build strong relationships

Highly motivated, collaborative, and possessing an entrepreneurial mindset

Flexible, agile, and open minded with a positive attitude

Able to plan work to meet project timelines with high attention to detail & accuracy

Excellent organizational & prioritization skills

The Software Quality Engineer position embedded in an Engineering scrum team will be contributing to software quality design and testing processes, and working to build, implement and improve those processes (preferably through automation wherever possible). This position will be primarily focused on API and some web UI testing - leveraging modern test tools, Python and native AWS cloud infrastructure. Job Duties: * Be involved in establishing, developing, maintaining and enforcing best quality processes and procedures within and across scrum teams. * Work with DevOps, Architects and others in Quality Engineering to create world-class automated test suites * Develop, deliver and maintain automation components in Python, integrating with modern automation tools, such as: Jenkins, Robot Frameworks, Bamboo, SonarCloud, Jest, Yarn, Cake, Docker, etc * Advocate for opportunities to test early and/or automate "fail fast" capabilities * Collaborate closely with scrum teams to maintain and improve team velocity * Contribute to story design and bug-fix discussions, with an eye toward testability * Implement new technologies and techniques and adapt to progressively improving SDLC requirements. * Contribute to technology decisions throughout the development life-cycle * Measure and report out on software quality through bug tracking, environment rating and coverage metrics. * Execute manual tests when automation is not possible. * Additional duties and projects as assigned by management.
