We are looking for a self-starter Senior Software Engineer with excellent technical expertise to help us build our Next Gen Consumer Applications Suite.

Design, develop and maintain highly scalable responsive consumer applications supporting high traffic volumes.
Be part of an engineering team that builds and supports amazing customer-facing products that will drive the next generation of Digital Experience.
Your primary focus will be the development of all server-side logic, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end.
You will also be responsible for integrating the front-end elements built by UI Developers into the application. Therefore, a basic understanding of front-end technologies is necessary as well.
You will communicate with customers and deliver high performing, resilient and intuitive suite of applications that create awesome customer experiences.
You will work and collaborate with cross-functional team of product managers, UX designers, architects, developers and automation engineers on our agile team.
Continuous learning to stay current with the changing JavaScript ecosystem landscape.

Required Skills:
BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of experience designing and developing secure consumer-facing web applications.
Advanced level knowledge of JavaScript and Functional Programming.
2+ years of extensive experience building production application with Node.js
2+ years of Full Stack Front-End experience. Solid understanding of HTML5 and CSS3.
Proficient in building and consuming of Restful Web service, JSON based request response.
2+ years of experience working with popular JavaScript tools and Frameworks (like Gulp/npm, ejs/handlebar, Angular.js, or React/Redux or Ember). ReactJS is preferred.
Experience building responsive Single Page Web Applications.
Good understanding of design principles to build a scalable application.
Strong experience with the design and implementation of low-latency, high-availability and performant applications.
Proficient with writing unit test case using any of the testing framework like Mocha, Chai, Jasmine etc.
Proficiency with Chrome and/or other browser Developer Tools.
Proficiency with Git/Github or other distributed version control systems.
Understanding of user-centered design, progressive enhancement and graceful degradation, accessibility, SEO, responsive design, and website performance.
Experience with Scrum, Agile Process

Desired Skills:
Contributions to open source projects.
Understanding of Relational, No SQL databases.
Experience with Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery.
Experience with Linux environment container technology such as docker.
Experience with logging tools like Splunk or ELK.
Experience with distributed cache like Redis.

The Wellness Navigator helps clients connect to HIV services, increase social connectedness and support women and youth with HIV to live with health and well-being. The Wellness Navigator will achieve these goals through direct advocacy for the client and by direction, education, and support to HIV individuals and their kin/friend network. Navigator works independently as well as links with teams, identifies and supports HIV women and youth who have received medical care but have not received services within the last six months. The Wellness Navigator conducts outreach to these clients and works with them to improve access to medical care by removing barriers, assisting in making and keeping appointments, and referring to medical case management and other supportive services. S/he provides a "warm hand off" securing linkage to the needed services, rendering the client's interaction with the Wellness Navigator complete within 16 weeks. Education: High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) Experience: Ability to work independently, a self starter and results oriented. Ability work cooperatively and communicate effectively with others. Works well under pressure and with deadlines; Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately, and able to efficiently prepare written summaries of activities; Set priorities and complete reports within required timeframes; Able to work as a team member in a culturally diverse setting; Demonstrated excellent attendance and reliability; demonstrated empathy for our clients and their needs; Community outreach experience ; Demonstrated experience working effectively with populations that are different than themselves in sexual orientation and ethnicity Knowledge: Knowledge of HIV/AIDS and related services in Alameda and Contra Costa counties preferred Effective outreach and linkage strategizes for difficult to reach populations preferred License/certification: Valid CA Driver's License with proof of current auto insurance. Language skills that include ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence and field notes. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations with youth, children, and coalition members. Bilingual language skills preferred.
