Job Description

Improving is a growing software and Agile transformation consulting company located in Westchase Houston. We are currently seeking experienced Full Stack .NET Developers to work with a wide spectrum of client executives and employees to ensure alignment and delivery of key business and IT services and solutions.

This position is located in Houston, TX and remote work is not available for this role.

This position’s day to day responsibilities will challenge you to be both independent and highly collaborative. It will require a problem solver with a positive attitude who loves to learn new things.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience using the .NET stack to deliver back-end web and service applications using C#, ASP.NET MVC, SQL and an ORM
  • Experience developing responsive web applications using JavaScript, HTML, CSS
  • Knowledge of Angular2 or React a big plus
  • Very broad and deep application development skills. Primarily works hands-on with code.
  • Experience with asynchronous message architectures in general a plus.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience developing applications with NServiceBus a plus
  • Experience optimizing the browser client experience a plus
  • Firm understanding of SOLID design principles
  • Understanding/ experience using Unit Testing
  • Experience with other server-side stacks (Node.js, Python, Java, PHP etc.) a plus
  • Experience developing native or hybrid mobile applications for IOS and/or Android a plus
  • Experience with NOSql databases (RavenDB, MongoDB etc.) a plus

Position Title: Full Stack Developer - 6E Position Summary Our Full Stack Developer will design and develop custom integrations with the enterprise data catalog application (Alation) and operationally support the application and its configuration. This position will help deliver various catalog services and capabilities in support of data governance and literacy. The Full Stack Developer is responsible for development and maintenance of integrations and APIs that enable two-way synchronization of metadata with the catalog, along with daily operations of the catalog, including catalog configuration, monitoring, data loads, access and upgrades. This role will also provide overall technical support to internal customers and drives the issue management process with the application vendor. Essential Job Functions * Responsible for end-to-end delivery and operations of catalog solutions and platform * Knowledge of multiple front-end and back-end languages and libraries * Design, develop and maintain solutions for a Linux based data catalog platform using open source technologies such as Python and ElasticSearch * Establish catalog innovation lab to enable and demonstrate future application capabilities * Develop automation for application integrations and metadata synchronization * Develop and execute APIs and processes in support of catalog capabilities and operations * Development and evolution of catalog metrics, reports and dashboards * Configure and maintain enterprise templates for dictionary, business glossary, metrics glossary, articles, etc. Education/Certifications * Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Business, Information / Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field preferred Experience/Minimum Requirements * Working knowledge of Alation, Collibra, Talend Data Catalog or other metadata tool * Five (5)+ years development experience in Python, Java, RESTful services * Experience in supporting solutions, applications and platforms * Experience working in a Data Management, Data Stewardship and/or Data Governance function preferred Other Skills/Abilities * Strong technical expertise with object-oriented programming, Python, Java, Linux, Alteryx, PostgresSQL, Javascript, Docker * Ability to create and consume REST APIs * Experience with Alation and or data catalog applications a plus * Highly self-motivated, cooperative, and collaborative attitude * Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and creative problem-solving skills * Keen attention to detail and ability to assess impact of design or coding changes prior to implementation * Experience relational database software and standards * Strong customer service orientation * Strong Oral and Written Communication Skills Organizational Relationship Title(s) of direct reports (if applicable): N/A Working Conditions: Works in a normal office setting with no exposure to adverse environmental conditions.  During COVID19 conditions, this role will work remotely to mitigate risk.
