Accountemps has an excellent opportunity for a Full Charge Bookkeeper. Are you proficient at multitasking, communicating, organizing, and managing your time? Do you want an opportunity to grow? Your responsibilities will include the preparation of financial statements; the establishment and preservation of the accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives of the business; and all other general accounting and bookkeeping tasks. This long term temporary-to-fulltime Full Charge Bookkeeper opportunity is based in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Your responsibilities

  • Assembling the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet and income and cash flow statements

  • Overseeing work of accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers

  • Maintaining adherence to federal, state, and local legal requirements by keeping up to date on them, filing reports, and advising management on needed actions

  • Completing monthly, quarterly, and year end close, on time and in an accurate manner

  • Performing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including collections

  • Preserving historical records through accurate filing of documents

  • Completing bank and general ledger reconciliations; processing payroll

  • Tracking fixed assets to produce depreciation schedules

Requirements

  • Proficient in accrual and cash basis of accounting

  • Background in payroll preferred

  • High school diploma or similar accreditation, and an AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business recommended

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks to prioritize needs and expedite tasks upon request

  • Can work independently with minimal supervision

  • Peachtree experience a plus

  • Competence with financial data analysis and report generation that is prompt and accurate

  • Highly organized and self-motivated

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in bookkeeping

  • Comprehensive knowledge of QuickBooks

  • Microsoft Excel experience

  • Proven flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments
