There is a Full Charge Bookkeeper opportunity with growth potential open for candidates who multi-task effectively and have strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills. Then Accountemps's Full Charge Bookkeeper position might be right for you. The short term temporary Full Charge Bookkeeper will work in Hanover, Maryland. If you think you have what it takes to be responsible for all general accounting and bookkeeping functions, including the preparation of financial statements, as well as establishing and maintaining the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives, you might be a good candidate for this job. Responsibilities

  • Maintaining historical records by filing documents

  • Studying and implementing federal, state, and local legal requirements, filing reports, and communicating with management on needed actions

  • Handling monthly, quarterly and year end close, accurately and on time

  • Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable, including collections

  • Preparing the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet and statements regarding income and cash flows

  • Managing accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers

  • Preparing depreciation schedules by tracking fixed assets

  • Handling bank and general ledger reconciliations, as well as payroll processing


  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • High school diploma or similar accreditation, and an AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business recommended

  • Highly organized, attentive, has a sense of urgency, flexible and able to deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities

  • Prior payroll experience preferred

  • Bank reconciliations experience preferred

  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial statements consolidation

  • QuickBooks experience

  • Knowledge of financial statement preparation

  • Account reconciliation experience

  • Knowledgeable of accrual and cash basis of accounting

  • Earlier work involving Excel and Peachtree

  • Ability to multitask efficiently and prioritize work

  • Proficient at analyzing financial data and promptly creating accurate reports

  • Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments

  • 3+ years of experience in the bookkeeping field
