The Full Charge Bookkeeper position is a short term temporary opportunity in Braintree, Massachusetts. You will succeed in this position if you're confident you can establish and maintain the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives, as well as all general accounting and bookkeeping functions, including the preparation of financial statements. What you get to do every day

  • Ensuring monthly, quarterly and year end close happens accurately and on time

  • Tracking fixed assets and constructing depreciation schedules

  • Preparing the trial balance and financial statements, including, but not limited to, balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows

  • Handling bank and general ledger reconciliations, as well as payroll processing

  • Studying and adhering to federal, state, and local legal requirements, filing reports, and detailing needed actions to management

  • Overseeing work of accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers

  • Retaining historical records through the accurate filing of documents

  • Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable, including collections


  • Capable of working independently with minimal oversight

  • Experience with bank reconciliations

  • Accounts payable experience

  • Account reconciliation experience

  • Adeptness in Microsoft Excel

  • General ledger experience

  • Command of accounts receivable

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, and AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business preferred

  • Show the ability to adapt and learn new techniques and skill sets when required

  • Possess strong organizational and follow-up skills

  • Prior experience with Quickbooks and Peachtree

  • Ability to multitask and communicate effectively with individuals of all backgrounds

  • 3+ years of bookkeeping experience

  • Experience with payroll preferred

  • Outstanding skills in analyzing financial data and promptly generating accurate reports

The position implements policies and procedures to support and help administrative direction for cafeteria management, food preparation, distribution, service, purchasing, sanitation standards, safety practices, staffing and staff development. In addition, the Supervisor may assist Dietitian with nutrition assessments if qualified. The Supervisor is responsible for helping to create an environment and culture that enables the department to fulfill its mission by meeting or exceeding its goals. Physical Requirements: * Good visual acuity and ability to communicate. * Ability to lift, push/pull and retrieve approximately 100% of the time. * Ability to safely lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. * Ability to safely push/pull objects weighing up to 150 pounds on wheels, with assistance, if necessary. The push/pull weight will be based on a loaded maximum weight of 300 pounds per cart. * Ability to demonstrate safe retrieval skills from above the head to floor level with objects up to 50 pounds. * Ability to withstand prolonged standing and walking. * Ability to reach, stoop, bend, kneel, and crouch are required for patient care functions and in setting up and monitoring equipment. Compliance: * Adheres to the company's Standards of Business Conduct. * Maintains current licensure and/or certifications, if applicable. Skills and Abilities: * Ability to speak, read, write, and communicate effectively. * Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented manner. * Ability to work independently without supervision.
