Summary
The Nursing faculty member collaborates with teaching team to connect with students, engage students in learning, assess student learning, and assist with continuous quality improvement and systematic evaluation of the nursing program curriculum, policies, and practices. The faculty member will support innovation, demonstrate exceptional teaching skills in the classroom, laboratory, and simulation settings, display enthusiasm and respect, and demonstrate the ability to work effectively with diverse students, faculty, and staff. The nursing program promotes contemporary teaching, quality scholarship, diverse learning, equitable access, and educational achievement for all students within the classroom, clinical, laboratory and simulation learning environments.
Essential Functions

Maintains highest possible standards of nursing program accreditation and nursing education.
Prepares content lesson plans to adhere to program curricular framework and threaded concepts.
Coordinates classroom teaching and learning activities and conducts assessment strategies for assigned class, clinical, and lab.
Assesses student learning outcomes and evaluates program outcomes.
Seeks professional development to remain current with nursing education, workforce trends, and emerging technology.
Maintains skills through professional development, continuing education, and scholarly activities appropriate to higher education and discipline.
Collaborates effectively with full-time and adjunct faculty members.
Actively serves on college, department, and program committees.
Supports college-wide initiatives and actively participates in organizational meetings.
Performs assigned responsibilities during the day, evening and/or weekend on any campus.
Perform related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
Master's degree in Nursing.
Two years clinical nursing experience.
Current, professional nursing license in State of Illinois, or successful transfer of licensure to Illinois.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analyzing and problem-solving skills.
Strong organizing and prioritizing skills to meet critical deadlines.
Strong multi-tasking and decision-making skills.
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and professional working relationships with others.
Preferred Qualifications
Doctorate degree in Nursing or Education.
Teaching experience in an academic nursing program.
Critical care or medical surgical nursing experience.
Community college experience.
Ability to serve the needs of a diverse population of students.
