What You Will Do

All Lowe's associates deliver quality customer service while maintaining a store that is clean, safe, and stocked with the products customers need. As a Customer Service Associate, this means:

  • Being friendly and professional, welcoming customers to Lowe's and helping with home improvement project needs.

  • Validating loading tickets and processing orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and in a timely manner.

  • Engaging in safe work practices and encouraging others to do the same.

The Customer Service Associate is responsible for customers' experience with Lowe's. This associate plays a critical role in helping our customers select the right products, ensuring quotes are accurate, verifying correct price labels, and confirming that all customer needs are met. In addition, this associate delivers excellent customer service by listening to customers, using expertise to help customers, and loading merchandise for customers. This associate must always remain vigilant and report any safety or security concerns around the entrance of the store.

The Customer Service Associate responsibilities vary dependent on the department he/she supports. Customer Service Associates work in one of the following areas: Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Millwork, Fashion Plumbing, Outlet, Tool Rental, Pro, or Windows & Walls. Individuals applying for a role as a Customer Service Associate may be considered for any one of these areas, depending on hiring needs and skillset.

Travel Requirements:This role does not require regular travel; however, this role may need to travel on occasion to meetings, trainings, or to support neighboring stores.

What We're Looking For

  • Hourly Full Time or Part Time: Generally scheduled 39 to 40 or up to 25 hours per week, respectively; more hours may be required based on the needs of the store.

  • Requires morning, afternoon and evening availability any day of the week.

  • Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.

  • CSAs assigned to the Greeter departments (available in select stores) minimally must be able to lift 10 pounds without assistance; may lift over 10 pounds with or without assistance.

  • CSAs assigned to all other departments (excluding Greeter departments) minimally must be able to lift 25 pounds without assistance; may lift over 25 pounds with or without assistance.

What You Need To Succeed

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.

  • 6 months experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets.

  • Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6 months of sales experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs, including credit cards, installations, add-on sales, and explaining warranties, product features, and benefits.

  • 6 months of retail experience providing customer service, including identifying and resolving customer issues, assisting customers in locating product, greeting customers, answering phones, building relationships with customers, and thanking customers for their business.

  • Bi-lingual skills, if applicable to the store.

  • Certification in trade related to department (e.g., hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, and lumber/building materials).

X 5 Days POSITION CONCEPT The Lighting Field Engineering Technician ("LFET") progression supports Tampa Electric Company's ("TEC") lighting and distribution system design, construction, and maintenance projects. Utilizing standard company specifications and materials, LFET's design the most electrically efficient and cost-effective outdoor lighting systems for new and existing residential and commercial customers. These designs are not limited to lighting, as they typically will also include the expansion, replacement, relocation, and maintenance of existing distribution systems required to serve the outdoor lighting system. The LFET serves as the main point of contact to customers, governmental agencies, TEC departments and contractors, while overseeing construction and in verifying that customer requirements are met throughout the project. The LFET processes work requests in TEC's work management system ("WorkPro"), determines customer requirements, completes designs in TEC's designing program ("Visual") and distribution map maintenance in TEC's geographical interface system ("GIS"), calculates estimates ("Tool Kit") and wind loads ("Pole Foreman"), obtains necessary work permits and coordinates activities with TEC departments and contractors to ensure in the successful scheduling and completion of projects. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Meet with commercial and residential customers to identify all needs of construction project, load additions, schedule and other requirements. * Other requirements may include evaluating the integrity of TEC equipment using visual and physical procedures to determine if they should be replaced or upgraded. This may include accessing and inspecting energized equipment once successfully trained in this procedure. * Complete photometric designs in Visual, including acquisition of AutoCAD site plan and incorporation of various fixtures and poles as specified by the customer. Lighting designs are completed in accordance with Illumination Engineering Society of North America ("IES") standards and under applicable governmental codes. * Process work requests ("WR") in WorkPro. Divide jobs into work phases and crews, establishing an associated WR for each of the different TEC construction phases and crews involved, including overhead and underground line crews, service crews, grounding contractors, project and crossing conduits. Ensure proper allocation of project's financial costs in WorkPro. Enter and update targeted schedule dates, work status and other project details in WorkPro for all associated WRs. Produce and oversee the production of construction prints and right-of-way permit drawings for Field Construction, Operations and/or contractors. Based on the scope of construction and company safety standards, determine necessity and scale of the Maintenance-of-Traffic (MOT) plan that Field Construction, Operations, and/or contractors would need for completing work in the right-of-way. * Utilize standard rules and specifications to perform analysis and design in determining the most economical and reliable solutions for customers and the TEC outdoor lighting and distribution systems. These designs should encompass the expansion, relocation, upgrade, removal and maintenance of existing distribution systems, as they pertain to lighting systems, and all other construction or maintenance needs while obtaining necessary permits and easements. * Using TEC's GIS, draw the proposed and existing electrical features. Establish all specifications in GIS, such as the correct electrical connectivity, proper supporting structures, and all compatible units ("CU's") for materials and labor at the correct type and amount for each feature. * Produce construction cost estimates using Toolkit (including labor and materials) and determine and communicate the need for contribution-in-aid of construction ("CIAC") charges to customers based on TEC revenue shortage or excess costs as required. * In advance of initiating a Bright Choices Outdoor Lighting Agreement ("BCOLA"), ensure contractual parties have signature authority to enter into a multi-year agreement with TEC using Sunbiz, LiteBiz, Property Appraiser, and State of Florida Election of Officers web site. Before project is underway, collect appropriate signatures and required CIAC. * Once the project is underway, represent customers in plan-of-the-week meetings, and manage communication to all involved entities concerning any updates in the construction schedule or other changes with potential impact and documenting updates. Coordinate the construction activities between Lighting's Planner Scheduler and contractors. * In support of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, verify activities are coded to the correct classification and charged to the appropriate accounts. Some overtime is required to meet Customer deadlines and storm response. Working conditions are both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. The level of stress is moderate to heavy depending upon the level of interaction with customers and governmental agencies. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ REQUIREMENTS Physical demands require working in field conditions, energized areas, walking in rough terrain, lifting objects up to 50 lbs., and wearing Personal Protective Equipment. While in and around construction site or energized equipment Fire Resistant (FR) clothing is required. Advancement to higher levels in the Lighting Field Engineering Progression is based on value added to the company through increased duties, responsibilities, and accomplishments. Advancement is not automatic, i.e., based solely on time in the job, but will be based on the employee's performance, qualifications, and the technical needs of the Department. LEVEL 1: Lighting Field Engineering Technician (LFET-1) Works under general supervision on routine assignments with projects of smaller scope and transition to more complex work, follows established policies, methods, and standards. QUALIFICATIONS Education Required: Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED Licenses/Certifications Required: Valid Florida State driver's license and safe driving record. Must complete TEC Safety Training, including safely accessing and inspecting energized equipment. Experience: Required: Minimum of four years of related work experience; Related work experience may include Lighting Repairman, Distribution Design Technician, Drafter, Lineman Journeyman. College Degree or technical certification may substitute for a portion of the minimum experience requirement. Preferred: Experience as a GIS Technician, Lighting Repairman, Distribution Design Technician, Drafter, Lineman, Journeyman and/or line worker. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES Required: Technical knowledge relative to the Engineering Test Battery and procedural understanding necessary in creating, interpreting and/or processing of work orders for customer construction projects; Solid communication and other interpersonal skills are required to effectively relate to customers, team members, and contractors; Must have the analytical abilities to identify problem situations and solve those of a routine nature, and/or have the initiative to find resolution of more complex issues through appropriate means or resources as needed; Must have the ability to competently utilize various computer applications to complete day-to-day job assignments efficiently. Preferred: Previous knowledge and/or proficiency with utility industry software including, but not limited to: WorkPro, GIS, Pole Foreman, SAP, Distribution Engineering Toolkit, AutoCAD, Visual. In addition, General Rules and Specifications, Approved Materials catalog, Assembly Users Manual, Distribution Engineering Technical Manual, Standard Electrical Service Requirements, IES Manual. LEVEL 2: Senior Lighting Field Engineering Technician (Sr. LFET) Work under limited supervision on assignments of increasing complexity and diversity. Provide leadership on new construction projects and other various assignments of moderate complexity as needed. Serve as the outdoor lighting subject matter expert within a Service Area. Have Level-1 experience and knowledge. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES * Provide engineering and project management for large residential developments with Master planned multiple parcels that could create a need for coordination over many years. * Meet with FDOT, county, municipalities, other utilities, and contractors to preplan the construction and modification of lighting systems and related distribution. * For approved capital specific construction projects, produce PSA (Project Scope Approvals) estimates. * Troubleshoot customer complaints involving voltage and/or outdoor lighting system design, analyze results, and utilize engineering skills and practices to resolve formal and informal customer complaints. * Mentor less experienced LFETs. Assist in training Lighting staff and other departments on various aspects of processes and procedures. * Make recommendations for lighting products and services representing the Company. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS Additional Education Preferred: Associates Degree in related field Experience: Required: Minimum of four years of experience as a LFET, or three years of directly equivalent distribution and lighting design experience with another utility; If internal must have completed Distribution Design Technician Training Levels I through V, if external, must complete within 3 years The attainment of a related Associates/Bachelors Degree or technical certification may substitute for a portion of the minimum experience requirement. Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Demonstrated proficiency in photometric IES design. Must have demonstrated and sustained above expected performance as a LFET with the ability and potential for assuming greater responsibility. Demonstration of effective project management, project leadership and communication skills are essential. Must successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously and have the ability to quickly redirect focus for changing priorities as needed. ADDITIONAL JOB-RELATED DIMENSIONS Negotiation Planning & Organization LEVEL 3: Lighting Field Engineering Technician Lead (LFET Lead) Works independently on complex and varied assignments and projects utilizing considerable analytical skills, judgment and ingenuity. Possesses strong knowledge in a particular specialty or functional area and operates with substantial latitude for un-reviewed actions or decisions. Works closely with Coordinator LFET and Manager on day to day operations and performance. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES * Perform in a leadership role with regard to local department and team development efforts through coordinating and approving work for department in accordance with Asset Management Process and by participating in complex technical/procedural studies and reporting the results to management to implement change. * Trains others in staff and other departments on various aspects of processes and procedures. * Working with Coordinator, manage outdoor lighting design and engineering workload and re-assign local resources to meet business need at assigned locations. * Checks and approves other LFETs work requests as needed at assigned location. * Serves as project leader as required for complex projects as required. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS Related Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years as a Senior LFET or equivalent, including the completion of progressively more complex assignments Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Must have an advanced knowledge of functional area of work and technical concepts; Must be able to assist in training others in staff and other departments on various aspects of processes and procedures; Must be the subject matter expert on outdoor lighting to negotiate with all customers and governmental agencies.
