Job Title: FT Perishable Associate
To provide quality customer service to our customers in the frozen food, ice cream, meat and dairy areas. Proper performance of these duties and responsibilities of this position will contribute to and ensure achievement of proper Frozen Food/Dairy/Meat/Ice Cream conditions. Responsible for maintaining standards according to the Standard Practice Manual, maximizing sales through excellent customer service and minimizing shrink through proper utilization of Standard Practice.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains ordering and inventory control.
Maintains proper receiving and storage of product.
Unloads trucks for the Perishable Departments.
Maintains proper handling, date and quality control practices.
Maintains quality and condition of product.
Maintains variety and layout standards set by Food Lion.
Provides total customer satisfaction.
Engages and interacts with customers to create a positive shopping experience.
Maintains production standards and proper product levels.
Follows proper housekeeping and cleaning standards set by Food Lion.
Follows proper pricing and signing programs.
Rotates product to Food Lion standards.
Follows stocking program guidelines such as: no case cutter used, conditioning and load lines.
Properly handles reclaimable and non-reclaimable items.
Wraps, weighs, labels and stocks meat cases, according to Food Lion standards, using thorough knowledge of all cuts of meat varieties and allocations
Properly handles deleted items.
Complies with scheduling and Food Lion policy standards.
Must ensure dairy/fresh meat/lunchmeat is rotated 100% as they are stocked. Frozen Food is not rotated as it is stocked. Frozen Food is rotated as required by the current Rotation Calendar.
Observes and corrects all unsafe conditions that could cause associate or customer accidents (e.g. broken equipment or fixtures, cases stacked improperly, refrigeration cases leaking, etc.).
Adheres to all company guidelines, policies and standard practices.
Understands and adheres to Food Safety guidelines and procedures.
Continually review current Standard Practices to ensure proper Standard Practice execution.
Builds and maintains Frozen Food, Meat, Ice Cream and Dairy displays per direction given in weekly merchandising notes.
Ensures addition and deletion standards are followed, including shelf allocation for new items and space reallocation for deleted items in Frozen Food and Dairy
Skills & Abilities:
Ability to reach, bend, stoop and lift up to 70 pounds.
Ability to push or pull up to 2000 pounds using a pallet jack.
Ability to withstand for long periods a working environment of 30F or less.
Ability to organize and rotate product and complete all paperwork.
Ability to meet production standards established by Food Lion
Ability to complete Computer Based Training (CBT) and Training Aid courses.
