Job Summary

The Custodian is responsible for complying with all instructions and policies pertaining to the agencies buildings and

grounds. Duties include cleaning and maintenance of assigned facility of Aliviane Inc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

• Maintains buildings in clean and orderly condition.

• Picks up paper and other waste on the ground and sweeps entrances.

• Empties all trash and garbage containers, daily.

• Vacuums all the carpets in offices, sweep and mop all appropriate rooms daily.

• Maintains various office and restroom supplies, including towels, soap, tissues and other sanitary items.

• Cleans all bathrooms daily.

• Keeps the storage rooms clean and orderly. Keeps janitor's room neat and orderly. Returns tools, cleaning equipment, etc., to its proper place.

• Maintains good work habits through timeliness and low absenteeism. Punctual at all times. Understands, accepts, implements and promotes Aliviane Inc. Mission Statement, program/department goals, philosophy and objectives.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning techniques and procedures.

• Skill in the use of custodial materials and chemicals and the operation of custodial equipment.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

The physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. The employee is regularly required to talk or listen. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, and using standard office equipment. This position requires the ability to move throughout the community and occasionally must be able to lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds at times.

Work Schedule

The work schedule is Standard from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Required/Preferred Education and Experience

One-year experience in building maintenance and custodial work; or any combination of education and experience that can be demonstrated to apply to the duties listed in the job description.
