Quality Assurance Supervisor

We have an incredible opportunity for a dynamic Quality Assurance Supervisor to join our growing Des Plaines Team!

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supporting the Quality Assurance and Product/Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory compliance, Halal compliance, adhering to local, state, federal, international, environmental, health and food safety regulations.

  • Prepare and implement the locations Standard Operation Procedures.

  • Maintain the facilities HACCP lines, follow up with all key managers to ensure all areas are covered and key personnel are trained properly.

  • Regularly review and update HACCP documentation, systems, and procedures

  • Investigate and review HACCP non-compliance.

  • Oversee all third-party audits and/or inspections.

  • Complete regular quality control assessments, complete corresponding reports.

  • Regularly audit the facility for; GMP, foreign objects, hygiene, and HACCP. Report back to the operations findings with recommended corrective actions.

  • Records all complaints, findings, corrective actions, etc. Finds areas of trends using analytic methods.

  • Investigate results of microbiological testing, communicate findings, create corrective action.

  • Proactively manage the routine locker cleaning.

  • Partner with the QA Manager to ensure that the unit meets the company's, industries, and regulatory standards for sanitation.

  • Work closely with the vendor(s) to order and maintain food grade chemicals within the facility. Keep appropriate par levels of these items and work with necessary managers who also have chemical usages.

  • Ensure MSDS are in place for all chemicals and any necessary PPE is available and trained for usage.

  • Monitors hygiene training and development of other staff directly and/or indirectly and provides coaching, direction, and leadership support to staff in the form of new hire orientation, retraining, annual retraining, etc.

  • Partners with supervisors and HR to implement corrective action as needed when hygiene protocols are not followed.

  • Supervise subordinate hygiene employees, including Quality Control Assistant and Quality Control Specialist, advise management as to their performance. Make reasoned recommendations as to the hiring of candidates for such positions, and as to the transfer and discipline of existing employees in such positions.

Qualifications:

  • Deep knowledge in HACCP, ISO, and food safety systems

  • Food Safety Certification, state specific if applicable

  • HACCP Certified

  • Food Safety Manager Certification Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Proactive and self-organized

  • Ability to manage through a substantial workload.

  • Capable to work independently as well as in a team environment

  • Ability to complete assigned tasks within the given time to meet strict deadlines

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Flexibility (different shifts - night, weekends, holidays)

  • Attendance based on schedule determined by supervisor; such schedule may include mandatory overtime and extended work week (including weekends and holidays)
