This position is contingent upon funding.
Candidate must have an active Secret clearance. Interim Secret may be considered with approval.
This position will be supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD) in the Philadelphia Navy Yard.
The selected candidate must have the following to qualify for this position:
Prior experience reviewing and editing manuals.
Excellent communication and organization skills.
The selected candidate must be able to work independently with minimal oversight. Experience with SGML is preferred, but not required.
Prepares specifications from engineering change notices, customer specifications, and/or published data sheets. Maintains customer specifications files; reviews customer drawings and data; translates customer language into standard procedures and product flow.
Most work is performed in an office environment with the possibility of some time spent aboard ships or in industrial conditions. Able to work on and climb ladders. Able to work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. Environment may involve high heat, humidity, noise, and dirty conditions. Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.
High School and 6 years additional education or 6 years relevant experience.
