Position Specifics:

This position will be based in Newport News, VA with travel to our Virginia Beach, VA office and other locations.

The selected candidate must be a lifelong learner with exceptional presentation, relationship-building, and communication skills.

The preferred candidate should have a Master's level education in Organizational Management or Organizational Psychology and experience leading a work/life function.

Responsibilities of this position will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Achieve understanding of diverse and geographically dispersed technical workforce and assist in developing, communicating and engaging employees and families in targeted wellbeing and benefits programs

  • Conduct onsite and remote learning sessions by serving as the presenter or the main point of contact for vendors contracted to facilitate educational offerings

  • Arrange local onsite events such as lunch & learns, department meetings, and special interest group meetings on specific topics

  • Work with Benefits Communications to develop presentations, talking points and information guides for wellbeing topics

  • Consolidate customer activity metrics and program outcomes for TSD, survey feedback on onsite events and focus groups and provide recommendations for continuous improvement

  • Serve as the TSD spokesperson to leadership and employees on wellbeing and benefits programs

  • Serve as core member of HII Wellbeing Council and form relationships with key organizational stakeholders to achieve wellbeing goals

Develops and/or administers any of the companys employee benefits programs. These benefits may include all or part of the following: vacation, holidays, sick leave, medical/dental coverage, long-term disability, group life and/or auto insurance, supplemental retirement programs, savings programs, pension programs, unemployment, and leaves of absence. Also may provide counseling and oversee communications of benefits to employees. Evaluates present programs through research, surveys, and analysis of benefit trends and/or vendor management to ensure plans are competitive and current.

Job performance will normally require only minor lifting and carrying of boxes of records or equipment.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelors in related field and 6 years of relevant professional experience. 4 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree.

Working in a controlled industrial area is required and at times may be required to drive a company vehicle. * Must have prior experience reading and understanding technical drawings to procure required materials. * Prior experience with Navy Supply System or similar logistics management system preferred. * Must have the ability to confer with vendors and manufacturing companies to procure required materials and services. * Required to work in an industrial environment ISO of Refueling Complex Overhauls. * Must be able to carry 5lb and must have a valid VA driving license. * Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel programs. * Must be analytical, organized, focused and be a great communicator, both oral and written. Controls the efficient flow of goods, services, and information between point of origin through customer placement in order to meet customer requirements. Ensures that customer service and time objectives are achieved within existing financial constraints in order to meet marketing and financial objectives. Ensures the execution and continuous improvement of standard logistics processes, such as the replenishment system, data interchange systems, demand management, electronic data systems administration and related functions. Builds relationships with strategic customers through logistics initiatives. Integrates learning from customers, competitors, operating entities, distribution, transportation, customer service, other industries, industry groups, and professional training to continuously improve competitive position. Basic Qualifications 3 Years relevant experience with Bachelors; 1 Year relevant experience with Masters; An additional 4 years of specific job experience with a HS diploma may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree requirement for this job. This experience is additional to subsequent relevant years of experience listed with the job's education requirements. Example: If this job required a Bachelor's degree + 5 years relevant experience the equivalency would equal HS diploma + 9 years job related experience.
