Job Summary

The Fryer Technician is responsible for establishing process centerlines targets for fryers. Assists in the development, coordination, and delivery of department training. Conduct studies and organize data to maximize fryer efficiencies. Performs work as assigned to maintain and improve the overall health of the fryers.

Job Functions

Essential Functions:

  • Lead and assist with fryer-related projects and other process control projects as needed.

  • Provide support for Glide Path teams on daily priorities and improvement projects.

  • Perform daily fryer health checks.

  • Communicate effectively with Maintenance, Glide Path teams, Line Leads, Process Engineer, and Quality on the health of the fryer.

  • Enter notifications in SAP to improve fryer health as necessary.

  • Support fryer team initiatives as an active member.

  • Coach team members in the daily Glide Path Foundational System and Autonomous Maintenance (AM).

  • Create and update training materials as needed.

  • Train and develop employees on fryer functions (for example processing, Center Line, CIL and sanitation functions, etc.).

  • Ensure that operator requirements and trainings are consistent on all operating shifts.

  • Provide recommendations and support for improving operational capabilities to all departments.

  • Create, identify gaps, and update SOP's and Center Lines.

  • Support Line Leads to ensure proper line set-up and run according to Process Center Line (PCL), in tandem with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and product design (Routing), including equipment, process, material and crewing.

  • Analyze issues relating to conditions where Process Center Lines and SOP's were not followed.

  • Develop and perform Design of Experiments in conjunction with Process Engineer.

  • Analyze data for targeting at critical measurement locations.

  • Validate current oil and crumb performance.

  • Perform fryer moisture loss tests (pre and post fryer testing) and complete records as directed.

  • Utilize Infinity database to include updating, creating and modifying projects as needed.

  • Audit Infinity data input.

  • Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.

  • Develop and sustain 5S in fryer rooms.

  • Follow proper GMP and safety guidelines.

Job Qualification Requirements

  • Mental

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Associate degree in Operations or related field preferred.

  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.

  • Possess above average mechanical aptitude.

  • Ability to present materials to a large audience.

  • Possess working knowledge of MS Word and Excel, PowerPoint preferred.

  • Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate in basic English and interact with all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to analyze data and draw logical conclusions with minimal guidance, and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Ability to work /train on all operating shifts dividing time equally among all shifts.

  • Skill and Knowledge

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing setting operating machinery preferred.

  • Knowledge of sanitation on designated equipment.

  • Maintain equipment re-certification as required.
