Job Summary Were seeking a talented, passionate front-end developer to help us realize our vision of a world-class online investing experience.
You will work on a daily basis with the engineering, marketing, design, and product teams to improve existing features on the website and implement new ones, constantly iterating and improving them along the way.
This position will take responsibility for and have ownership over the translation of design comps with varying levels of fidelity into semantically correct, organized, performant code.
Our team is small, so you will have a chance to have a significant and immediate impact on our growing user base and the overall success of our business.
This means you'll have ownership over your work from approach through development to validating its performance in a production environment.
Ideally, you are: Design-minded.
You write code but have an eye for design.
You care about things like vertical rhythm, content hierarchy, and responsive layouts.
You regularly provide feedback on design and propose alternatives.
Sometimes the best solution is the simplest and sometimes its not.
You think critically about the task at hand and are constantly discussing and evaluating the trade-offs in different approaches - recognizing there are different ways to solve a problem.
You are naturally curious about things you don't understand and actively look for opportunities to grow and learn from those around you.
You care deeply about the quality of your work and recognize the value in consistency.
You know when 80/20 solutions are sufficient and when that extra push can make all the difference.
Requirements 3+ years professional experience as a designer or developer.
Equally comfortable in Sketch or Photoshop as well as your preferred code editor.
Excellent knowledge of the potential and shortcomings of a variety of browsers, operating systems, and screen sizes.
Experience with source control and repository management (git). Superior written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working with different teams and stakeholders.
Used to receiving and providing critical, constructive feedback.
