EVERFI is seeking a Front End Developer to work as part of our course development team to code and maintain high-quality web pages and interactions that deliver amazing online learning experiences for our partners and their learners.
As part of the course development team, you will work closely with our creative team, instructional designers, and product managers to gather requirements, produce specifications, and create reusable plugins that hook into our proprietary content management system and generate the course pages and interactions.
The position will sit out of our Washington, DC office.
3-5+ years of professional experience
Knowledge of CSS preprocessors like SASS / LESS, atomic design and responsive design
Understanding of the concepts of progressive enhancement
Experience developing responsive websites
Experience building reusable code and libraries for future use
Experience with frameworks for responsive web development like Bootstrap, Foundation, Skeleton as well as grid layouts such as grid css and flexbox.
Proficiency working with style guides and bringing UX designs, such as wireframes, to life through the application of visual design principles
Work with designers to ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
Familiarity with browser testing and debugging
Familiarity with software like Adobe Suite, Photoshop, Invision and content management systems
Working knowledge of collaborative integrative design tools such as Figma
Experience with ReactJS and/or BackboneJS
Experience working with GitHub and git flow methodology
Experience with package managers such as npm and build tools like gulp, brunch, etc.
Design, program, test, and debug applications according to accessibility specifications (including WCAG 2.0, 2.1, ARIA, and Section 508 standards)
In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (requirements, design, development, QA, deployment, and maintenance)
Test and evaluate software tools from accessibility and usability perspectives
Familiar with continuous integration and component-based development
