The Paychex Flex team is looking to hire an eager software engineer! Candidates who possess a strong desire to learn and expand their knowledge of development practices and industry knowledge are idea for this opportunity!


  • Performs basic analysis and design for program changes to gain an understanding of application changes.

  • Completes basic program changes to translate specifications and / or requirements into code.

  • Acquires and utilizes basic business knowledge to support the applications.

  • Provides documentation to support program changes.

  • Plans, documents, and executes unit test plans to ensure all code changes meet requirements / specifications.

  • Complies with and contributes to standards and procedures to ensure development consistency (e.g. programming standards, change management, version control).


  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer related discipline or equivalent work experience


  • Familiarity with Java or other compiled programming language, or

  • Familiarity with Javascript (React or Angular a plus)

  • Solid understanding of object oriented programming principles.

The Senior Front End Web Developer will be responsible for designing and building a user centric interfaces. This person will have the opportunity to design and build a best-in-class assessment platform. This requisition is part of the Pearson/MZD team, which develops innovative assessment technology platforms. The Senior Front End Software Developer will: * Provide engineering leadership with a focus on user interface design and development * Design and Implement user interfaces in collaboration with team of full stack engineers * Provide feedback and implementation advice to team members * Analyze & Design - Ensure business and requirements artifacts are created that effectively model the customer's requirements. Use tooling and best practices to create design models from requirements * Review - Participate in and lead requirements, design and code reviews * Test & Deployment - Work closely with other teams (e.g., QA, configuration management, end users) to release high quality software. Create testable requirements and write and execute unit tests * Quality/process improvement - Participate in group improvement activities and initiatives to improve process and product quality in pursuit of excellence * People development - Mentor and train new team members * Performs other duties as assigned The anticipated starting salary range for Colorado-based individuals expressing interest in this position is $80-100k.
