Front End Engineer II, Selling Partner Developer Services

Our vision is to offer a secure world-class Customer experience that enables SPS and third-party Developers to innovate rapidly on behalf of millions of Selling Partners around the world to run their business on Amazon. Selling Partner Development Services (SPDS) team is seeking a self-driven Front End Engineer who will build Seller and third party Developer UI experiences enabling Developers to ingest the relevant information that is displayed to Sellers across various pages in Seller Central. We are developing and operating distributed systems at unprecedented scale leveraging AWS technologies to deploy high-quality solutions into a cloud based architecture. You will build systems that helps Developers to create, list and monitor their applications in Amazon Seller Central Appstore that is leveraged by thousands of Sellers to automate and scale their selling business at Amazon.

You will have the opportunity to participate in the design and implementation of an exciting greenfield project and overcome complex technical, business and customer experience challenges at scale. You will partner with our Product and UX designers to build new UI experiences for both Developer and Sellers. Key job responsibilities

A Front End Engineer on our team works closely with Product Managers to define and create delightful features for Selling Partners, solve UX problems, and collaborate with PMs and senior engineers on the team. You'll participate in planning, design, scoping, and prioritization discussions and work backwards from the Selling Partners to ensure new features meet their needs.

FEE II coach others on producing high quality code, using processes such as code review as a teaching mechanism. They ensure that when their software fails, the root cause is identified and eliminated with a permanent fix.

They take on projects where the business problem and technology strategy are well understood but the implementations are not fully fleshed-out. They balance constraints, limiting the use of short-term workarounds. They use common UI design patterns to decrease friction between the customer and software. They ensure the software they produce can be maintained and extended by those not familiar with the code by writing clear documentation and making good design choices.

They seek guidance from their manager, Sr. Engineers, or Principal Engineers when facing tough tradeoffs. They train new team members on how their software is constructed, how it operates, and how it fits into the bigger picture.

About the team

Our team owns the Seller Central website for third-party app and solution discovery. We provide a one-stop shop for Selling Partners to find third-party solutions to assist with their selling on Amazon business.

We provide a level playing field to foster Selling Partner and third-party Developer success and establish Customer trust. We work in a collaborative fashion that makes sure everyone's opinion is heard and respected.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of non-internship professional front end, web or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML and CSS experience

  • 1+ years of computer science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis) experience

  • Experience using JavaScript frameworks such as angular and react

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1+ years of agile software development methodology experience

  • Experience with common front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JS, TypeScript, and Node

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market.

Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
