What You Will Do

All Lowe's associates deliver quality customer service while maintaining a store that is clean, safe, and stocked with the products our customers need. As an Front End Department Supervisor, this means:

  • Removing barriers, addressing inefficiencies, and enabling staff to delighting our customers.

  • Collaborating with front-end and back-end operations associates to ensure items are adequately stocked.

  • Monitoring use of store power equipment and coaching employees on safe behaviors and lifting techniques.

The Front End Department Supervisor is primarily responsible for leading and enabling a team of associates to deliver the best possible customer experience in the store. This includes coaching and training associates, delegating, following-up on daily tasks, managing performance, and ensuring adequate department coverage. The Front End Department Supervisor impacts Lowe's mission daily by planning, scheduling, monitoring, and successfully implementing all non-selling operations in the front end of the store, facilitating the store's ability to provide a superior customer shopping experience and maximize sales and profitability.

To be successful, the Front End Department Supervisor must collaborate and communicate with other Department Supervisors and Assistant Store Managers to determine the most effective methods for meeting service, operations, and safety objectives. The individual in this role must continuously drive efficiencies and be able to teach others the skills needed to maintain effective store operations. It is important that this associate communicate upward to keep management informed of concerns, issues, recognitions, and morale.

The Front End Department Supervisor helps keep our store safe by conducting safety walks, reporting hazards, training and monitoring staff, and understanding all safety and lifting requirements.

In addition to the responsibilities summarized above, individuals in this role may occasionally open or close the store or serve as manager-on-duty (MOD).

Travel Requirements:
This role does not require regular travel; however, this role may need to travel on occasion to meetings, trainings, or to support neighboring stores.

What We're Looking For

  • Hourly Full Time: Generally scheduled 39 to 40 hours; more hours may be required based on the needs of the store.

  • Requires morning, afternoon and evening availability any day of the week.

  • Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.

  • Minimally must be able to lift 25 pounds without assistance; may lift over 25 pounds with or without assistance.

What You Need To Succeed

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of experience in a retail environment OR 5 years of experience in a retail environment.

  • Experience providing direction or supervision to teams (with or without direct report responsibility).

  • Experience supporting or participating in the process of training, mentoring and developing associates.

  • Experience working cross-functionally.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting front-end or back-end operations in a retail environment.

  • Experience in customer service role.

  • Experience in a leadership role with direct report responsibility.

  • Experience working in the home improvement retail sector.

  • Experience working in a fast paced, dynamic retail environment.

  • Experience in key carrying role with manager-on-duty responsibilities.

  • Experience using store computer systems (including but not limited to: Project Tool, Genesis, Sterling, M2O, Thin Client, etc.).

If the state or local municipality requires a salesperson license for this position, you must either be licensed or pass the requisite licensing exam within sixty (60) days of starting employment in this position.

VIEW JOBS 11/18/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-02-16T00:00 Job Description Assistant Front End Managers are responsible for ensuring outstanding guest service on the Front End, ensuring that the overall appearance of the department meets company standards and guidelines, changing and updating shelf tags, handling audits for departments as needed, and protecting company assets. Assistant Front End Managers assists the Front End Manager to ensure compliance with Cashiers and Courtesy Clerks on all company policies and procedures through proper handling of all transactions and corresponding documentation, such as refunds, check approval, team member discounts, price overrides, coupons, gift cards, and other transactions that require supervisory assistance. Also, the Assistant Front End Manager is responsible for the presentation and merchandising of Front End displays. Assistant Front End Managers will work with the Front End Manager to ensure all new department associates receive proper training and tools to succeed. Position Description Core Accountabilities: * Assists with all functions and activities of the Front End. Helps to reduce losses due to shrink, damage and pilferage. * Performing weekly audits for departments across the store; updating shelf tags and signage as needed; performing cash handling duties and protecting company assets; reviews refunds and adheres to company policies and guidelines; assisting with signage needs throughout the store; ensuring that all state and local alcohol sale policies and guidelines are followed. * Maintaining merchandising standards for registers and end caps; maintaining a neat, organized, and safe Front End. * Demonstrate the ability to be organized, to work independently and with the team to provide a great atmosphere for both guests and team members, all while maintaining the overall appearance of the department. * Assist other departments with inventories; enforces and follows department practices regarding rotation, stocking and the unloading of product to ensure freshness and quality. * Ensuring that company quality and safety duties are enforced, including inspecting and storing products to ensure quality, following proper cleaning and sanitation procedures, operating equipment in a safe and focused manner and completing any necessary reports. Follow all company guidelines and procedures, to include but not limited to, safety and sanitation and preparation while providing overall exceptional service to ensure a positive and lasting guest impression. Adhere to all local, state, and federal health and civil code regulations. * Observe all store rules, Company policies and handbook guidelines, shift operating hours at all times as scheduled or assigned by store management. Must wear approved apron. * Maintains knowledge of weekly ad items; gives guests direction of product location throughout the store. * Maintains excellent communication within the department and store management at all times. * Directly participates in on-the-job training efforts in the department. Works together with the Front End Manager to conduct performance reviews.
