Job Summary

The Westin Seattle is looking for a Front Desk Supervisor who is friendly, outgoing, professional, have a positive demeanor and excellent communication skills. The Front Desk Supervisor will delegate effectively, demonstrate initiative, take ownership of issues and have good problem solving skills. Responsibilities will include registering guests into the computer, verifying their reservation, address and credit information, promoting the Starwood Preferred Guest Program while providing recognition and benefits to all present members, and accepting payments for guests' accounts both at time of registration and checkout. As a Front Desk Supervisor, you will assign specific tasks to Front Desk Agents as applicable and necessary as well as provide ongoing training and support to Front Desk Agents.

Requirements
An exceptional candidate will have an energizing yet relaxing personality and:

  • Must speak, read, write and understand the primary languages in the workplace

  • Have good communication skills

  • Possess basic computer skills

  • Have general knowledge of Seattle and its irresistible attractions

  • Be able to stand and exert well-paced ability for up to four hours in length

  • Be able to lift up to 15 lbs.

  • Have finger dexterity

  • High school or equivalent education

  • One to three years of experience in Front Office/Guest Services

  • Maintain a neat, clean, well-groomed appearance per Marriott standards

  • Be willing to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Follow all company policies and procedures; ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information. Anticipate and address guests' service needs. Speak with others using clear and professional language; prepare and review written documents accurately and completely; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 15 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Who Were Looking For: FRONT DESK SUPERVISOR FOR STAYPINEAPPLE UNIVERSITY INN IN SEATTLE, WA. As Front Desk Supervisor you are responsible for making sure the front desk staff is providing service consistent with impeccable Pineapple Hospitality standards. What You Bring: We do not set a low barits our goal to make each and every stay the very best one a traveler has ever had. And that starts with the front desk. You will be the captain of this ship, serving as team lead for the front desk staff ensuring smooth team operations and effective collaboration. Oh but thats not all. Here are a few of the other tasks that will keep you busy on a daily basis: * Proving training and guidance for front desk staff on hotel standard operating procedures and departmental standards. * Occasionally stepping in to complete daily hotel front desk tasks. * Assisting Front Desk Manager with monitoring performance and attendance. * Balancing daily paperwork: Cash drawer, deposits, reconciling credit cards and submitting batches. Where Youve Been: Were looking for someone with a High School diploma (or equivalent) and six to 12 months of related experience. No wallflowers wantedyou must be able to contribute to a collaborative and diverse team dynamic while quickly assessing situations and creating effective resolutions to problems. This probably goes without saying, but a passion for customer service is an absolute must. A working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office is preferred. When Youre Here: Sometimes youll be behind a deskbut also be prepared to move around because more than half of the time you will be standing/sitting, carrying/lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, bending/twisting, climbing stairs and more. You also must be able to accommodate varying schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.
