Based in Modesto, SGMF provides quality medical care, health education and research activities in a five county area. SGMF's medical staff includes family practitioners, internists and pediatricians, as well as a range of specialist physicians. Services include imaging, nuclear medicine, a health library, health education programs, occupational medicine, diabetes education, nutrition counseling, infertility counseling, and weight management. Provides administrative support and coordination to Hospitalist Department, responsible for administrative duties and coordination of 3 hospitalist sections. Responsibilities include administrative support of meetings, data collection and tracking, answering phone calls, maintaining confidentiality, and organizing workload to complete tasks on time. This position requires employees to think critically and solve problems independently. This position interacts with multiple providers and plays a key role in achieving high quality outcomes for the Hospitalist Department. Minimum Requirements: Education: * High School Diploma required. * Associate's Degree or equivalent education / experience required. Experience: * Administrative skills including telephone and customer service experience required. * At least one (1) year of computer experience with software applications such as Microsoft Work, Excel, Outlook and Power Point required. Preferred Requirements: * Three (3) years of related administrative experience or five (5) plus years secretarial/administrative experience in a healthcare/medical environment. * Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with multiple physicians simultaneously Knowledge: * Strong interpersonal skills, a commitment to providing exceptional customer service * Prior experience in a rapidly changing healthcare setting with tight deadlines is preferred * General knowledge of physician billing and insurance payers recommended * An understanding of health insurance guidelines is preferred * An understanding of basic anatomy and medical terminology * Knowledge of general office practices and medical group office practice functions is preferred Skills/Equipment: * The ability to read, write and verbally communicate in English using correct grammar is essential * The ability to communicate professionally, calmly and effectively with all levels of staff and providers, as well as patients * The ability to deal effectively with challenging customer service interactions in an appropriate manner * Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information * Ability to consistently uphold quality requirements related to the daily operation and administrative functions at the Sutter Gould Medical Foundation (phone etiquette, document preparation, meeting coordination, deadline adherence, project coordination, and Board relations) * Ability to think critically and problem solve * Ability to work as part of a team * Requires the ability to draft correspondence with minimal front-end input for Hospitalist Team Leadership approval * The ability to be flexible as needs of the department change * Organizational skills and ability to multi-task are very important for this position * The ability to work independently to complete job duties and manage multiple priorities * Ability to type 35 wpm * The ability to work enthusiastically and energetically with all groups of people, including physicians and staff * The ability to compile data and prepare reports * Experience working within Electronic Health Record as part of routine job functions is preferred Sutter Health Modesto CA
