Front Desk Agent/Guest Services Agent

This position is for a Front Desk Agent/Guest Services Agent with a company in Canton, MS. Duties and Responsibilities:

Verify customers' credit, and establish how the customer will pay for the accommodation. Make and confirm reservations. Issue room keys.

Keep records of room availability and guests' accounts, manually or using computers. Post charges, such those for rooms, food, or telephone calls, to ledgers manually or by using computers. Compute bills, collect payments, and make change for guests.

Record guest comments or complaints, referring customers to managers as necessary. Review accounts and charges with guests during the check out process. Advise housekeeping staff when rooms have been vacated and are ready for cleaning.

Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel services, guest registration, and travel directions, or make recommendations regarding shopping, dining, or entertainment. Clean and maintain lobby and common areas, such as restocking supplies and watering plants. Prepare for basic food service, such as setting up breakfast or coffee and tea supplies or do laundry.

This position requires strong social skills and must be a team player. Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests of hotels or motels. Able to work independently.

Education and Experience: Must be at least 21. 2 years of experience in a hotel or a related field preferred. High School diploma or equivalent required.

Computer experience required.

Customer Services experience preferred. Must be punctual and have good attendance.

Physical Requirements: Flexible and long hours sometimes required. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Ability to stand during entire shift.
