As the Front Desk Agent, you will utilize your charismatic nature and passion for customer service by graciously registering guests of the property. You will effectively inform guests of available services and amenities available throughout the property. You will also manage all administrative duties as required.

Skills/Requirements

  • The ability to work independently with professionalism while maintaining a focus on quality and customer service

  • Candidate should have strong written and oral communication skills

  • Candidate should be able to stand or walk the majority of each shift

Additional skills sought include high attention to detail, solid personal interactions skills, and the ability to work on and complete multiple tasks in a timely fashion.

Job Description Eyemart Express is seeking a Front Desk Assistant also known as a (Dr. Technician, Optometrist Technician or Optical Technician), to primarily assist under the store Doctor. The general responsibilities of this position are to service all customers who enter the Doctors office and assist them with the delivery of exam services as well as the purchase of contact lenses. This person is responsible for maintaining company standards while: answering the telephone, greeting patients, performing the pre-test, selling contact lenses, communicating Eyemarts specials and everyday low prices, meeting sales goals, data entry into the computer, following A/R procedures, performing I & R (insertion and removal) training, ordering and dispensing contact lenses, troubleshooting customer complaints, filing, and reporting as necessary. The Drs Tech is also responsible for performing any related work as directed by a Manager or Doctor. Duties and Responsibilities * Provide exceptional customer service * Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions as well as policies regarding payment, returns, exchanges * Compute and process payment transactions/refunds using in-house Point of Sale system * Perform other administrative tasks as assigned * Process insurance claims * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products * Create and maintain patient files, following company and HIPAA policies regarding confidentiality. * Input customer information into computer system * Assess and interpret patients needs/wants based upon prescription requirements, facial features, lifestyle, and occupation, and suggest most appropriate products (i.e. frames, lens type, coatings) * Sign-in patients. Call and clearly document any insurance eligibility information before any services are provided. Make and maintain patients charts per local Doctor specifications. File patient charts daily. * Perform a thorough pre-test as directed by the local Doctor. For example: NCT, auto-refraction, auto-keratometry, color test, brief medical history, visual acuity, load phoropter, etc. Follow the local pathogen control policy as set by the local Doctor. * Order and receive contact lenses. Call customers daily for pick-up, job status, and any special order or production delays. Deliver contact lenses to patients. Assist with inventory control. For example: receiving stock, maintaining the merchandising, monthly inventory, loss prevention Education and Experience * High School Diploma or GED * Experience working in retail, customer service, or sales * Experience working in the optical industry is preferred Working Environment * Work is performed primarily in an indoor retail store setting * High level of interaction with general public * Work is independently and with patients * Environment often fast-paced and deadline oriented * Some exposure to dusts, fumes, glass and/or plastic lens particulates, standard chemicals found in optical lab (some of which may be allergenic), metal alloy (solid and melted), moderately high levels of noise, fluorescent lighting, cleaning agents and electrical energy in the lab Skills and Abilities * Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time (up to 8 hours per day per scheduled shift) * Ability to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist * Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to approximately 25 lbs * Must possess excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills * Ability to operate basic office equipment * Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing * Ability to correctly read and interpret prescription specifications and input into computer properly to ensure lenses are cut properly * Ability to multi-task * Ability to identify and solve problems, and facilitate problem solving * Attention to detail * Time management skills - ability to prioritize and work quickly and efficiently when there are multiple customers to assist * Ability to deal with stressful situations such as dissatisfied customers * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees Working Environment * Work is performed primarily in an indoor retail store setting * High level of interaction with general public * Work is independent and with patients * Environment is often fast-paced and deadline oriented * Some exposure to dusts, fumes, glass and/or plastic lens particulates, standard chemicals found in optical lab (some of which may be allergenic), metal alloy (solid and melted), moderately high levels of noise, fluorescent lighting, cleaning agents and electrical energy in the lab Eyemart Express Madison WI
