What's the opportunity?
The Freight Pay Lead is responsible for their regional carrier freight pay related questions including client invoicing, adjustments and credits. The Freight Pay Lead requires excellent time management, problem solving, analytical, and customer service skills. A background in transportation, accounting or finance is preferred. Good working knowledge of Excel is required, ability to create and manage reports utilizing SQL and Microsoft PBI is a plus. The Freight Pay Lead works closely with the Global Freight Pay Manager, client and carrier contacts to ensure timely and accurate payment. They will be expected to identify and implement process efficiencies to improve and support overall strategic initiatives.
What will you be doing?
Align with the global manager to ensure freight pay and billing processes comply with guidelines outlined in the Business Requirement Document
Ensure all regional routines are aligned to identify and troubleshoot invoicing errors and discrepancies
Manage and drive continuous improvements to prevent the reoccurrence of problems and refine processes
Reconcile invoicing using current customer and carrier contracts
Facilitate weekly calls with customer/ carrier regarding open issues
Responsible for meeting operational targets within a particular region, mode and business unit
Maintain regional monthly/daily reporting routines and metric deadlines
Run and monitor weekly internal/external aging to keep current
Create and document regional standard operating processes
Act as a resource for global peers and assist in the facilitation of cross training within Freight Pay Team
Collaborate with internal service teams to meet team and customer goals
Provide prompt and professional response to customer and/or carrier requests for additional information Work with operational team to train on standard freight pay procedures
What are we looking for?
Accounting, Finance, Economics or Supply Chain focus preferred
4 years related experience
AP/AR experience required
Transportation, Logistics, and/or Supply Chain knowledge required
Must exemplify TMC's core values
Excel experience required
Reporting skills preferred (SQL, PBI)
Information systems aptitude (TMS, ERP preferred)
Ability to think critically and solve problems quickly and accurately
Ability to work in a team oriented, fast-paced and dynamic environment
