Manage freight claims tracking in Microsoft excel. This will include new records added from some automated reporting out of our CRM, manual additions from various plant receiving teams, and the subsequent updates to those records as actions are completed.
Submit freight claims to logistics service providers through various methods; most common will be online forms or emails.
Update and manage freight claims records. Will be used to report on carriers' performance and to identify which claims require a follow-up
Proactively contact carriers via email and phone to ensure claims are complete in their submission and closed timely by the carriers. This includes confidently addressing denied claims that should be reopened by the carrier
Monitor other emails or calls from carriers to ensure claims are being updated as needed. Carriers may ask for additional information or documents and the claims specialist will be responsible for completing those requests
Work with other teams like customer service or materials management to ensure we have all the necessary information and documentation to have claims successfully approved
Utilize different Allegion systems like Microsoft AX, Oracle, Dynamics CRM, etc. to find additional information as needed to complete claims submissions
Analyze and report on freight claims using Excel to create data tables and charts for monthly operations reviews and trend monitoring. Present analysis to various members of leadership and call-out opportunities to more successfully file claims
Cross-train on various Logistics Analyst job tasks to serve as primary backup. These tasks will include freight invoice exception clearing, updating freight financial tracker, and more
Support other initiatives/projects/tasks as assigned
Follow all Allegion policies and processes as required
Qualifications/Skills:
Preferred education or experience: associate degree in business, finance, accounting, data analysis, supply chain or other related field OR 3+ years of experience in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations or related field
Strong time management and organization skills
Excellent communication and follow-up skills
Proficient user of Microsoft Excel, and Outlook
Knowledge of ERP, CRM, and TMS systems preferred
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
