Martindale-Hubbell a leading provider of law firm marketing services, seeks writers to create content for our clients' websites.Writers must have demonstrated legal expertise and be able to put the law into plain English for a general audience.

This is a freelance, remote opportunity.

All candidates must be able to do the following:

  • Write from a creative brief and/or an SEO strategy without direct client contact.

  • Quickly research, understand, and write authoritatively about legal topics.

  • Translate complex legal information into accurate and consumer-friendly marketing copy.

  • Write according to best practices for the web, including SEO optimization.

  • Write to a short deadline.

Successful candidates will have previous experience in legal practice, legal marketing, or both.

The Assistant Editor, Surveys and Data Visualization will primarily be responsible for planning and conducting original research and surveys; preparing data and writing/editing analysis articles for publication; keeping the data resources on the website current; and creating graphs and charts that depict data trends, all within tight deadlines. The Assistant Editor will work directly with editorial team members to create and manage the survey editorial calendar, as well as the marketing team to craft audience communications. Knowledge, skills and experience needed for the job: Strong ability to write clearly, engagingly and authoritatively Excellent attention to detail Ability to maintain accurate records Ability to adhere to tight deadlines and handle multiple projects that may overlap Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions from the research findings and present these in an accurate and user-friendly format for subscribers Good interpersonal skills Strong cross function-collaboration skills A degree in statistics or equivalent qualification. Ideally, you will also have: Experience in a range of quantitative research techniques Basic Excel skills Experience working with marketing teams to create reader communications, identify audience lists and achieve business results Experience working with survey software (preferably Qualtrics) Experience creating graphs and charts, particularly in Excel and Word Experience of working in a publishing environment. Working knowledge of workplace and general HR issues facing today's employers. The role is full-time, based in either RBI's New Providence, New Jersey or New York City office, with remote flexibility. You will be joining a team of more than 15 editorial staff with XpertHR US.
