The PGA TOUR is looking for a freelance Digital Content Producer to work as part of our Digital Content Team. The Producer works closely with other members of the Digital Content Teams to publish stories for use across PGA TOUR website and app. As a digital storyteller, the Producer is responsible for building content that will generate audience interaction across platforms. Work schedule of hours vary per week.

Qualified candidates will have the following:

  • Experience in creating content for use on websites and apps

  • Experience in editing and/or content management role with a digital publisher

  • Experience with Adobe AEM and Airship a plus

  • Background in golf preferred; strong interest in golf required

  • Strong writing and editing skills including grammar, style and spelling

Responsibilities:

  • Edit and publish content for use on the PGA TOUR's website and app.

  • Coordinate with on-site content creators and office-based content creators to deliver compelling content across platforms.

  • Work with Content Team members to create unique packages as events develop.

  • Adhere to brand standards and established voice across platforms.

  • Work collaboratively with other content creators.

  • Utilize available data to make or adjust programming decisions across platforms.

  • Available during competition hours, which includes evenings, weekends and holidays.

  • Adapt to changing editorial conditions in a short time frame.

This position works closely with other members of the Digital Content Team and tournament teams to plan and develop compelling stories for use across tournament websites and social media platforms. This thought leader will collaborate with a diverse team of creative team members producing original content for our fans. QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's degree required. Journalism or Communications preferred * Seven to ten years' experience in developing content for use on websites and social media platforms * At least 2 years supervisory experience. * Experience in editing and/or content management role with a digital publisher is preferred * Strong knowledge of the social web including content creation, best practices, success metrics and emerging platforms * Proficiency in content management system, Adobe products required * A highly organized, detail-oriented candidate is preferred * Strong writing and editing skills including grammar, style and spelling * Background in golf preferred; strong interest in golf required RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES * Support of, planning and coordination between PGA TOUR co-sanctioned tournaments, title sponsors and internal stakeholders and the PGA TOUR's Digital team, helping all groups communicate effectively while identifying best practices and available opportunities to partner for content * Includes assistance with PGATOUR.COM tournament websites and video requests, as well as consulting as requested by tournaments * Responsible for the day-to-day management and oversight of the Sr. Content Managers for both Korn Ferry Tour and PGA TOUR Champions; This includes performance management, facilitation of content brainstorming and creation and integration with PGA TOUR Communications * Organization and distribution of best practices among PGA TOUR, PGA TOUR Champions and Korn Ferry Tour tournaments and title sponsors * Additional tournament support of ancillary tours, including PGA TOUR Champions, Korn Ferry Tour and PGA TOUR Canada, as requested * Act as main contact for tournaments in regard to questions and assistance needed with social platform contacts - this includes filing tickets, name changes, strategy help (ticket sales), etc. * Develop digital strategies and best practices for tournament content that may be published to event websites and social networks * Train tournament content staff in best practices on social networks and website CMS; Support them on an ongoing basis * Develop, edit and program content for use on tournament websites and across social networks * Lead and participate in regular brainstorms, working with tournament teams and the Content Team * Coordinate content planning with the Content Team, communicating broader PGA TOUR content plans with tournaments and sharing tournament plans with the Content Team * Assist tournaments with content performance data and make recommendations for continued success/improvements * Adhere to brand standards and established voice across platforms * Available to travel for content creation opportunities at key events throughout the season * Available during competition hours, which may include evenings and weekends * Adapt to changing editorial conditions in a short time frame * Special projects or other duties as assigned EOE/DFW We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
