JOB PURPOSE

Proactively identifies possible fraudulent transactions and intervenes to prevent transactions from occurring. May contact customers to confirm validity of transactions. Analyzes fraud trends, emerging fraud schemes, and industry news to recommend proactive fraud prevention techniques and processes. Contributes to continual improvement of departmental procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partners with various business lines throughout the Bank to monitor and proactively prevent fraud.

  • Monitors customer accounts, transactions, payment processes, and reports to proactively identify, minimize and prevent fraudulent transactions before occurrence.

  • Partners with Bank Protection and Investigations to ensure prompt investigation and response to identified fraud.

  • Routinely contacts customers and other bank associates to confirm the legitimacy of high-risk payment transactions prior to occurrence.

  • Analyzes current processes for opportunities for future fraud prevention and proactive monitoring.

  • Maintains the Enterprise Fraud Risk Assessment, and recommends changes to current processes, responsibilities, and procedures to more adequately mitigate possible fraud schemes.

  • Works with management to define reporting needs and implement dashboards and metrics to monitor and understand risk trends, issues, and opportunities related to fraud prevention strategy and goals.

  • Reviews system reports for high-risk accounts and internal fraud.

  • Compiles ad-hoc reporting and completes analysis requests for management, including data collection.

  • Participates in implementation of new fraud prevention related computer systems, tools, and processes.

  • Tracks enterprise-wide fraud avoidance and possible fraud losses and recommends changes in policies and procedures according to trends.

  • Assists with development of fraud prevention training, based upon risk levels identified in the Fraud Risk Assessment.

  • Assists in the planning, creation, and maintenance of complex analyses requiring a broad understanding of Bank concepts, processes, and analytic techniques.

  • Identifies opportunities for process improvements, including streamlining functions, resolving processing problems, and improving service quality.

  • Utilizes appropriate metrics/analysis techniques to measure staff efficiency, determine system effectiveness, and identify fraud prevention process improvement and system enhancement opportunities.

  • Regularly contributes suggestions for greater fraud prevention efficiency and effectiveness.

  • May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.

  • Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities -- knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.

  • Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.

  • May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent prior experience or training in audit, store operations, backroom operations, financial and operational analysis, or accounting/bookkeeping.

  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) credential required.

  • 5 years of experience with a focus on store operations, compliance, analysis, and fraud prevention. Banking industry experience preferred.

  • Advanced knowledge of commonly-used fraud prevention concepts, practices, and procedures and common fraud schemes, including account takeover fraud.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of bank computer systems, Microsoft Office software, and data analysis tools and techniques.

  • Willingness to be a continual learner and mentor junior analysts.

  • Ability to train and present to small and large audiences or has the interest in learning to train and present.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

  • Work involves sitting, occasional walking, and lifting up to 10 pounds.

  • Requires close visual acuity.

  • Normal office environment.

  • Occasional travel may be required.

VIEW JOBS 2/17/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-05-17T00:00 JOB PURPOSE Responsible for the day-to-day regulatory reporting requirements including monitoring, investigating, performing enhanced due diligence periodic reviews and reporting suspicious activity for the bank's high risk customer population. A Senior AML EDD Analyst will typically be assigned more complex cases (customers with higher risk profiles) as part of their responsibility for enhanced due diligence, periodic reviews and pre-approvals for non-customers, as well as special projects involving the retention of the bank's high risk population. Responsible for analysis, dispositioning and assigning of AML CDD alerts; performing annual and semi-annual transactional activity investigations to complete the EDD reviews. A Senior AML EDD Analyst is responsible for mentoring and training of more junior AML EDD Analysts. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Oversee assigned group of more junior AML EDD Analysts. Serves as lead trainer and mentor for new team members assisting the Manager with creating and implementing onboarding plan. * Ensure assigned group of analysts are completing assigned alerts and cases in line with department timelines and expectations. Escalates concerns to management as necessary. * Responsible for an assigned group of High Risk Customers in order to perform ongoing Enhanced Due Diligence to include periodically reviewing transaction activity, and assess the overall AML risk rating and/or assign a risk rating to the customer. Identify suspicious or unusual activity and prepare the appropriate documentation to support suspicious activity (RUA). * Analyze and identified High Risk customers and assess overall risk level and re-rate the customer as appropriate. Prepare written analyses for all assigned high risk customers. * As part of the analysis requirements, the Senior AML EDD Analyst will review potential customers for transactional activity, search for negative news on the company and beneficial owners, assess and analyze the activity to determine if the activity is consistent with the line of business, number of locations and does not operate entities that violate U.S. law or regulations and prepare a customer risk response memo for the front prior to onboarding for potential high risk customers. * Responsible for compiling appropriate case notes and documentation to support recommendation retain or exit the high risk customer. * Serves as lead reviewer to ensure that department processes and procedures accurately reflect the work flow of more junior EDD analysts. Makes recommendations to correct gaps or address performance deficiencies in order to maintain excellence. * Supports Manager in cases dispositions as well as assumes lead role in Nice Actimize product release to include participating in pre-release training, assisting with staff development and ensuring that product capabilities are being fully utilized by analysts. * Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities - knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training.
