Summary:

  • The Fraud Analyst III shall assists in obtaining documents and other information related to investigations and cases for the Security Exchange Commission (SEC).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs research to locate potential witnesses.

  • Conducts in-house, telephone and database research; manages case file.

  • Assists in the preparation of interim and final reports and recommendations.

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

  • Master's degree and/or certification(s) in a related labor category field from an accredited college, university, school or educational institution that has been accredited by accrediting bodies or organizations recognized by the US Department of Education

  • Five (5) years of relevant technical experience.

  • Special knowledge and skill in litigation support, document analysis and/or accounting, preferred.

  • Experience in litigation support during trial, including courtroom

  • Experience in interviewing witnesses

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to work effectively in an extremely pressured environment.

  • Must have and use excellent oral and written communications skills.

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft 2010 or newer programs.

  • Ability to provide favorable credit history

  • Knowledge of e-discovery procedures and resources.

  • Must have working knowledge of various public repositories of information.

  • Familiarity with investigative tools, public and private records databases, and fraud investigations helpful.

  • Ability to work on high-visibility programs and perform all functional duties independently.

  • Ability to oversee the efforts of project staff and be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.

The Analyst III is responsible for implementing the necessary system enhancements to support the changes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Responsible for reviewing and approving meals and entertainment requests, political contribution requests, sponsorship requests, and bond ballot contributions * Works in conjunction with the department manager to update the Firm's Written Supervisory Procedures (WSPs) related to Public Finance and Municipal Underwriting based on new rules and regulations and/or process enhancements * Support the Public Finance Department involving Compliance matters * Assist the department manager with preparing various Compliance training sessions for the Municipal Securities Group * Respond to regulatory inquiries and exams related to the Public Finance Department * Responsible for coordinating and submitting the quarterly MSRB G-37 filing * Perform monthly deal reviews for municipal offerings * Work with the Training and Education team to create a training library for various policies related to municipal securities * Participate on SIFMA and BDA industry calls and roundtables * Interact with vendors to evaluate new products and services QUALIFICATIONS * Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, maturity, intellectual curiosity, initiative and good judgment; takes pride of ownership for wins and accountability for losses/mistakes. * Industry knowledge, theories and concepts of methodology, process development, change management and implementation. * Working knowledge of Compliance analysis and reporting.
