The Assistant Hotel Manager in conjunction with the Hotel Manager is responsible for all
aspects of operations in the hotel, day-to-day staff management and guest relations. He /
She should be an ambassador for the hotel and provide leadership and strategic planning to
all departments in support of our service culture, maximized operations and guest
Assists in the leadership and management of the hotels management team and overall hotel
targets to deliver an excellent guest experience. The Assistant Hotel Manager would also be
required to participate in the management between profitability and guest satisfaction
measures. Hands on leadership is expected with hotel team members in each department
as well as guests. Must have an outgoing personality, lots of energy and the determination
to be successful.
If hired a detailed technical skills and service training document will be reviewed and a
request will be made of the employee to sign and acknowledge technical and service
training standards and expectations as well as a copy of this job description.
Shares the oversight of the operational functions of the hotel with the Hotel Manager
including housekeeping, maintenance, front desk, reservations and pool.
Holds regular briefings and meetings with all head of departments.
Attends pre-shift meetings.
Ensures full compliance to Hotel operating controls, SOPs, policies, procedures and

Handles complaints, and oversees the service recovery protocol
Manages on-going profitability of the hotel, ensuring revenue and guest satisfaction
targets are met and exceeded.
Ensures all decisions are made in the best interest of the hotel and business enterprise.
Delivers hotel budget goals with support from hotel manager and sets other short and long term strategic goals for the property.
Develops improvement actions relating to service issues.
Assists with Payroll processing and HR functions.
Familiar with Marriott Standards and current initiatives.
