The Framing Specialist's responsibility first and foremost is to deliver a premium customer experience by inspiring creativity within our customers and making JOANN their happy place! All Team Members drive sales through advanced product knowledge, innovative merchandising, and cutting counter accuracy. The Framing Specialist is responsible for driving sales and profitability of the custom framing department through the use of exceptional customer service, creative ability, and execution of an effective work flow. The Framing Specialist will also embody characteristics and perform duties of Brand Ambassador, Operational Excellence, Business Acumen, and Inspirational Leader.


  • Greets every JOANN customer and uses the F.A.S.T. service model to meet the customer's needs

  • Asks open-ended questions to learn about customers' project needs and escorts them to the desired product's location

  • Engages in friendly conversation with customers about their projects while serving them at the cutting counter, cash register, and sales floor


  • Collaborates with customers to design and create a custom frame for their pictures and artwork

  • Responsible for the overall frame shop including sales, floor shop appearance, planogram integrity, signage, and promotional displays

  • Stocks and organizes merchandise within the framing department to ensure store standards are maintained


  • Acts as subject matter expert on custom framing trends, best practices, design, profitability management, order flow, and customer interaction

  • Reviews P&L reports with store management to identify areas of opportunity within the framing department


  • Train associates working within the framing space including: customer engagement, product assortment, design, measurement, order taking and processing, order finishing

  • Assists team members in other areas to ensure overall success of the team and the store


  • Must be 18 years or older

  • Preferred: High school diploma or GED

  • 1+ years of supervisory experience in a customer centric environment

  • Available to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: * Creates clear and concise written and video communication using a variety of platforms. * Gathers information for district publications through research and interviews. * Responds to requests for public information from the media, community, parents, and staff. * Assists the Public Information Officer in planning, coordinating, and conducting special events. * Monitors social media, leads expansion efforts. * Visits schools on a regular basis to help tell the District's story. * Proof reading and editing District communications. * Audits web pages for content, timeliness, and accuracy. * Builds and maintains relationships with staff to establish internal communication metrics. * Works well under deadline pressure. * Handles day-to-day and adapts to last-minute assignments. * Builds and maintains relationships with individuals and local businesses. * Assists with crisis and unplanned communications efforts on a daily basis. * Attends Board of Education meetings as assigned. * Leader of internal communications efforts. * Ensures the safety of students. * Establishes and maintains cooperative professional relationships. * Exhibits professional behavior, emotional stability, and sound judgement. * Maintains confidentiality and respect for confidential information at all times. * Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designee.
