Job Description: The FPI Level III provides leadership, guidance and technical support to the FPI personnel by driving adherence to disciplined systems, robust processes and focused standardization of best practices.

Job Duties Include:

  • Establish a presence as the FPI expert inspector, trainer, auditor and customer advocate to ensure consistent quality and specification compliance

  • Challenge and motivate FPI personnel through demonstrated leadership

  • Manage key performance metrics that provide objective evidence regarding the effectiveness of the FPI operating systems and that meet the industry standard

  • Customer interface and understanding / deployment of customer requirement

  • Ability to certify and maintain to customer requirements

  • Establish and execute training and certification program for all FPI personnel.

  • Maintain certification records in accordance with industry and business requirements.

  • Develop and execute improvement projects to improve accuracy, consistency and efficiency within the FPI process

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications :

  • High school Diploma or GED from an Accredited institution
  • FPI Level 3 certification to NAS 410, ASNT SNT-TC-1A or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • 10 years experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Knowledge of Post-emulsified penetrant methods and aerospace/IGT OEM standards

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

VIEW JOBS 1/21/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-04-21T00:00 Function Operates one or more types of heavy duty motorized and automotive equipment and a variety of hand tools, power tools and equipment in the construction, maintenance and repair of the City's public works infrastructure. Examples of Duties * Operates a variety of automotive equipment to include low boy tractor, bridge platform truck, sweeper, bucket truck, tar distributor, wash truck and trencher. * Operates a variety of hand tools to include shovels, rakes, pick axes and string line trimmers. * Inspects, services and performs minor repairs on automotive equipment. * Assists in loading and unloading materials and equipment and cleaning up work areas. * Performs related duties as required. Typical Qualifications Graduation from high school or successful completion of the GED is preferred. Requires a minimum of three (3) years of experience operating equipment as listed above; ability to demonstrate proficiency in the operation of equipment required. Requires the ability to work independently and set and follow priorities; ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with the general public and other personnel. General knowledge of the occupational hazards and the safety precautions necessary to the proper operation of automotive and motorized equipment and the use of hand tools and equipment. Must possess a State of Virginia Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or must possess a valid State of Virginia Driver's License and obtain the CDL Class A within 180 days of employment. Must have a satisfactory driving record based on the City of Hampton's criteria. Any person under consideration for employment in this position shall be required to successfully pass testing for controlled substances. Any person under consideration for employment in this position shall be required to successfully complete a Virginia Criminal History Background Check. Supplemental Information Performs duties under the general supervision of an assigned supervisor; receives direction from crew leaders. Occasional overtime, evening, weekend and holiday work is required. Incumbent is subject to call-out and may be required to carry an electronic signaling device which enables him/her to respond to emergency situations. This is a non-exempt position.
