Role Summary:

Provide strategic management of financial planning and analysis (FP&A) for the North American Life and Health (NALH) business. Responsible for strategic management and execution of all FP&A and reporting activities. Function as a senior member of NALH Finance team.

Essential Responsibilities:

Direct the strategy and execution of FP&A processes and provide financial leadership at a functional and business unit level.

Actively participate in the quarterly financial closing and reporting processes and prepare financial projections for key planning sessions.

Provide analytical leadership regarding the evaluation of business performance and the identification of future risk and opportunities.

Develop short-range outlook forecasts and plan to achieve all business goals such as net income and expense targets.

Analyze variances and trends to determine changes in key business metrics vs. expectations.

Provide timely financial updates to the NALH and GE Capital leadership teams.

Provide critical performance analysis of business results in support of plan assumptions and demonstrated cost reductions and strategic business shifts as necessary.

Prepare quarterly updates to financial forecasts with comparison to plan.

Develop the process for identifying and articulating risks and opportunities relevant to the forecast period and explain drivers.

Drive continuous improvements in the financial reporting packages that are provided to the senior leadership team for monthly and quarterly results.

Maintain regulatory awareness: drive compliance and support regulatory initiatives as applicable.

Provide leadership and continue to develop team members


Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting.

Minimum 8 years of finance experience preferably in the insurance/reinsurance industry.

Understanding and experience working with the insurance business model and investment management.

Leadership experience with senior management interaction.

Proven project management and coordination experience.

Strong leadership skills and ability to lead change.

Experience managing direct reports.

Proficient use of financial systems and analysis tools including Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Desired Characteristics:

Demonstrated oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels across the business.

Master's degree, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification.

GE Financial Management Program (FMP) and/or GE Corporate Audit Staff (CAS) graduate.

Energetic approach to work, passion for continuous improvement, change agent.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities.

Experience leading cross-functional teams.

Leadership experience and ability to motivate teams and work across all functions.

VIEW JOBS 11/9/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-07T00:00 GENERAL STATEMENT OF POSITION: Works together with the Life Engagement Director to ensure that activities services are available and provided to the residents to help fulfill their basic psychological, social and spiritual needs. REPORTS TO: Life Engagement DirectorESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. * Provide daily encouragement to residents for involvement in activities available via verbal invitations and reminders. This should include both group and individual activities. * Provide transportation and directions to/from activities residents are interested in. * Provide leadership and direction with activities such as; games, exercise, socials, flower arranging and crafts. Will assist in leading activities as assigned by supervisor.. * Maintain a record of residents activities involvement. Evaluate residents reactions during activities and report unusual observations to the Life Engagement Director or nursing staff along with documenting behavioral problems and/or changes. * Assist Life Engagement Director in completing Initial Interest Forms and help provide activities orientation to new residents. * Requisition and may purchase supplies, equipment, and materials as assigned to do so by Life Engagement Director to carry out programs. * Provide assistance in keeping the activities areas orderly and decorated appropriately. * Provides driving assistance when going on outings. Helps load/unload activities bus during outings. * May be required to perform tours and/or answer questions regarding residents and programs at the community. * Ensure that all items are purchased, prepared and set up for happy-hours. * Attend and participate in meetings and/or training in areas related to activities and resident rights. * Assist Life Engagement Director in ensuring that residents activity needs are being met via 1:1 visitation, encouraging intellectual and educational development through literature, movies, cultural events, and some form of stimulus in the rooms of the residents who are unable to leave their rooms. * Assist in delivering mail and packages to residents. * Ensure all required paperwork is completed accurately and timely by state requirements. * Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor. MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Ability to read, speak and understand English sufficiently to follow directions and communicate with supervisor, co-workers and residents; some Activities experience in geriatric setting is desirable but not essential, since on-the-job training will be provided.
