Job Title: Foundry Technology Engineer Sr.


Work Site: San Jose, CA
Job Duties: Develop integrated fabrication process for new MEMS sensor products. Research and design of process technologies that can be applicable to the next generation sensors. Create and design test structures and DOE for new process development. Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshooting of fabrication process issues. Material handling and wafer sort data analysis of test chips and initial products. Support product team and manufacturing groups for high-volume production ramp up. Work with design and engineering teams to launch and validate test chips.

Job Requirements: Ph.D in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related technical field.
Education or background experience to include:

Experience in MEMS process development;
Experience in MEMS device layout, design, and characterization;
Experience in CMOS semiconductor fabrication process;
Python and Matlab software to analyze obtained data;
Knowledge of MEMS device physics and micro/nano-scale mechanics; and,
Experience in electro-mechanical transduction mechanisms including electrostatic force, thermos-electrics, piezoelectrics, and electro-magnetics.

Description: The Staff Foundry Engineer will work with our foundry partners to drive understanding of yield issues and implementation of solutions as part of the overall Global Operations and Quality Division of Xilinx. Responsibilities: * Work with foundry, testing, and reliability to drive quality improvement to meet stringent requirements (e.g. automotive requirements) * Analyze large data set for identifying sources of yield suppression or opportunities for yield improvement * Identify causes of systematic and random yield loss, drive to root cause, and implement countermeasures using data analysis methods and process knowledge * Drive/support development and implementation of process BKMs * Drive/support development and implementation of quality requirements, test conditions, and screens. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree. Advanced degree a plus. * 10 years of experience in related fields with a BS degree or 5 years of experience with an advanced degree * Familiar with wafer fabrication, process engineering, or product engineering. * Familiar with integrated circuit quality, manufacturing, and testing. * Good analytical and making data-driven conclusion skills. * Ability to drive complex issues to closure in a timely manner and clearly communicate the result. * Familiar with data mining techniques and history investigation to determine the cause of low yield from single point fliers and excursions * Understanding / experience with process integration on advanced process nodes (HK MG, FinFETs, …) * Familiar with SPC, DOE, Statistical Analysis, and Project Management techniques * Experience with statistics & data mining software (i.e. JMP, SPSS, …) * Strong written and verbal presentation and communication skills * Programming and/or scripting experience is a plus (JMP, Python, Java, R) * Ability to work with others and good team player with strong sense of team work Xilinx, Inc.
