I'm searching for a Chief Data/BI Scientist to join a team developing an augmented A&BI platform that auto-generates actionable natural language business insights marketing algorithms that analyze business data at scale producing data-driven decisioning. Founders have led data science teams at Facebook and Paypal, built the core tech and monetized several previous startups.

Data Ingestion and query (SQL + Scala/Spark)

Distributed computing (Hadoop)

Data Munging (Python Pandas, Rs Tidyverse package)

Data Visualization in dashboards (Plotly, D3.js, Highcharts)

Machine learning (

Deployment skills (Flask, RShiny, Dash, etc.)

Our experience spans two decades and includes launching and managing some of the largest charter schools in the U.S. Our services include accounting administration, marketing, curriculum development and other areas of charter school management Options for Youth (OFY) and Opportunities for Learning (OFL) Charter Schools are free public charter schools serving students grades 7-12 who have fallen behind in school, are looking to get ahead and graduate early, or simply desire a non-traditional learning environment. We seek to provide at-risk and underserved students an alternative to traditional learning methods and environments. General Summary: As a key member of the Executive Management Team, the Chief Financial Officer will report to the CEO and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the company. The CFO will have a primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, job costing, legal, property management, deal analysis, and negotiations, investor relationships and partnership compliance and private and institutional financing. Essential Functions include, but are not limited to the following:* * Provides leadership in the development for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives. * Ensure credibility of Finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts. * Take hands-on lead position of developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive job cost system. * Evaluates and advises on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/ strategies and regulatory action. * Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives so as to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions. * Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities. * Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation and reporting to the Company. * Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities. * Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP, SB740, and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting. * Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures. * Serve on finance committees. * Assist with special projects as assigned by President. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: * Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write complex correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to district officials, clients, and other employees of the organization. * Advanced math skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. * Advanced reasoning ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. * Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections. Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis. * Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings. * Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule. * Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time.
