Founder Apprentice

Magic Spoon New York , NY 10001

Posted 6 days ago

Magic Spoon reimagines your favorite childhood breakfast cereals into a high-protein, low-carb, guilt-free daily indulgence.

Since launching in April 2019, we've quickly become one of the fastest growing DTC brands. Forbes called us "the future of cereal", and TIME Magazine named us in their Top 100 inventions of 2019.

Our investors include some of the most prominent names in venture capital (Lightspeed Venture Partners, Collaborative Fund, etc), founders of top companies (Casper, Allbirds, Harry's, etc), and celebrities (Nas, Questlove, etc).

We're looking for an ambitious rockstar to work directly alongside our founders on all parts of the business.

This role could be ideal for a number of different backgrounds. You might be:

  • An entrepreneurial hustler without much formal education/training, looking to learn.
  • A new MBA looking to join a fast-growing food startup and touch all departments.
  • An ambitious new college grad considering consulting/banking jobs to "learn" before starting your own business, but know deep down you'd rather learn by doing.
  • Accomplished but bored at a big company and looking to switch things up, or enter the food industry for the first time.
  • A first time "failed" founder wanting a (nicely paid) break before your next venture.

You'll touch every part of the organization. Your work might include:

  • Mapping out new channel strategy
  • Interviewing potential new hires
  • Supporting the growth marketing team with one-off projects or research
  • Managing freelancers
  • Brainstorming content ideas
  • Generally getting shit done

There is a tremendous amount of flexibility with this role and how it changes over time. Our expectation is that it is for a finite period, likely 1 year, after which we'd find a more fixed department or role in which you'd thrive. This could be broad such as a Chief of Staff or Special Projects role, or more narrow, like a Growth Marketing role. Or if you want to move on to another startup or launch your own business next after learning the ropes, that's fine too.

There are no formal requirements for this role.

We just expect you to be a self-starter, a hustler, and ambitious.

  • Competitive salary
  • Unlimited vacation
  • Unlimited cereal
  • Health, Vision, Dental
  • Will work from our awesome office in Tribeca, NYC (one day, anyway)
