The Merced County Office of Education assists Merced County's 20 school districts through support and oversight of curriculum and instruction, alternative education, business services, early education, technology, migrant education, special education, and teacher credentialing. MCOE is led by the elected Merced County Superintendent of Schools and governed by the Merced County Board of Education. While serving as a focal point to facilitate local school/government/community partnerships, MCOE is responsible for the fiscal oversight of each school district in Merced County, hears appeals for student expulsion hearings and interdistrict transfers and operates Green Meadows Outdoor School.

Job Summary
Under the administrative direction of the Administrator, Educational Services/Regional Occupation Program will provide instruction and training realistic in terms of current and future work specifications in a classroom setting and through community classroom/work experience to prepare grant eligible students for employment in the career field required. Responsible for curriculum and program development, student performance objectives and evaluation.
Responsible for developing community sites for student internships. Provides creative leadership within student groups, school personnel and the public sector. This position is included in the certificated bargaining unit.

Requirements / Qualifications

Education and/or Training: High school diploma or recognized equivalent. Experience: Three (3) years of work experience in Early Education are required.
One (1) of the three (3) years of the required experience in Early Education must be within the last five (5) years, or two (2) years within the last ten (10) years. Credentials and/or Skills: Hold/qualify for valid CA Designated Subjects Career Technical Education Credential in Foundations in Early Education.
Skills in Early Education. Additional skills include, but are not limited to, effective planning, developing and implementing curriculum related to Early Education, effective communication skills both written and oral, working knowledge of Early Education practices and procedures including applicable computer operations and software. Valid CA driver's license and minimum amount of liability insurance required by law. DMV Driver Printout required at time of hire.
