Clark College Foundation, in direct support of Clark College and its mission, is currently accepting applications for a full-time Scholarship and Foundation Programming Manager in the Finance, Business and Operations department. This position reports to the Senior Director of Scholarships and Foundation Programming and manages some and assists with most facets of the Clark College Foundation scholarship program and foundation grants. Collaboration with Foundation and College staff as well as external partners is an integral part of this role. Strong communication and customer service skills are required to work with a diversity of people. Computer skills and the ability to work with online platforms are essential. The job requires attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and reprioritize frequently. Handling matters with confidentiality is vital.

  • Manages scholarship awards decided by college departments and other processes.

  • Manages the Foundation's emergency grant program by following standard procedures and providing a quick turnaround time for student checks. Monitors grant fund budgets and eligibility.

  • Works collaboratively with Clark College Financial Aid Office and other departments.

  • Ensures scholarship dollars are made available and processed for eligible students.

  • Notifies student recipients of scholarship awards and process for accepting. Serves as the student point of contact for all scholarship related communication.

  • Assists with scholarship application preparation and committee work.

  • Verifies continued eligibility for scholarship recipients.

  • Assists with advertising of scholarships, including but not limited to, providing web updates, hosting student information sessions, and communicating deadlines and other information with college and external partners.

  • Assists with monitoring scholarship budgets, disbursements, and donations.

  • Provides administrative assistance for collaboration of scholarship opportunities with community partners.

  • Provides administrative assistance for Foundation programming and College grants, including but not limited to, advertising, application development, committee coordination, follow up, and budget monitoring. Secondary Functions:

  • Assists with coordination and implementation of Foundation programs, activities, and events as requested.

  • Participates in the Finance and Business Operations team and helps when needed.

  • Available as needed in preparation for the annual scholarship recognition event.

  • Prepares documents and reports for donors as requested.

  • Assists as needed with front office back up (visitors, phone, gift processing).

The duties listed above may not include all tasks performed by this position. Clark College Foundation expects all employees to assist as and where needed. Job Scope: Position encounters frequent new and varied work situations that involve a moderate degree of complexity. Complexity is due to the coordination of events and activities, competing priorities and the sensitivity of interactions. Position requires working within established parameters, but also creating procedures for new situations, and operates under general supervision.MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A college degree or equivalent work experience in a higher education setting.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook)

  • One (1) year of experience in the area of financial aid or scholarship processing is preferred. Experience in a related field that manages applications and financial aid awards is acceptable.

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

  • Solid decision-making and judgement abilities.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Access to reliable transportation, as this community-based position requires attendance at a variety of community events and programming.

JOB READINESS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Working knowledge and ability to operate computer and specialized web-based programs.

  • Interpersonal skills, teamwork, creativity, and ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at level necessary to successfully perform assigned duties.

  • Decision-making, discretion, customer service, and independent judgment or action is frequently required.

  • The need to sit, talk, hear, and use repetitive motions of hands and wrists is frequent. Some lifting is required.

  • Work is normally performed during business hours, with most hours working from the Foundation office. . Attendance and participation at Foundation-sponsored meetings or events occurring during non-business hours may also be required.
