Job Summary:

The Foster Care Case Manager performs case management services for children and families in regular, specialized or home-of-relative foster care programs. The goal is to emphasize meeting clients environmental and psychosocial needs, as well as implementing a permanent living plan for each child.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct monthly home visits or more frequently as the program requires.

  • Arrange and supervise visits between children and their birth parents.

  • Transport children as needed for visits with biological parents.

  • Prepare, maintain and provide documents and reports of cases and appear and/or testify in court as necessary.

  • Complete data entry into client management systems.

  • Consult and review cases with supervisor and follow the course of action.

  • May recruit, study and license foster homes.

  • Work effectively with a multi-disciplinary team to do what is in the best interest of the child/family.

We are looking for:

  • Bachelors degree in Social Work, Human Service, Psychology or similar degree from an accredited university.

  • Passed all DCFS required examinations and certifications including the DCFS Child Welfare Licensure.

  • 1 year of experience preferred

  • Valid drivers license, access to an insured automobile and acceptable driving record

  • Demonstrated ability to build professional relationships

Must have a good driving record and willingness to travel. This position requires traveling to different site locations, court and home visiting.
