Formulations Specialist

The purpose of this position is to support the Senior Formulator in the management of value-added processed cheese formulations and supervise the Rework Line at the Spencer plant. This position is also developmental in nature, serving as a progressive skill building pre-cursor to the Senior Formulator role at Spencer.

Responsibilities:

Formulations Management:

• Maintenance of Spencer Processed Cheese formulas

• Moisture Control Management

• Support Zeus Application and function

• Process Cheese Regrind Management

• Formulations Support & Development

• R&D and Technical Services Groups

• Support & Liaison

• Support Specification Management and Maintains Systems for Audit Readiness

• Is a Safety champion by supporting Safety Training & EH&S Initiatives

• Department Support Relief

Experience

• Education (Required):

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Biology or related field and a minimum of 2+ years' experience in Food Manufacturing plant. OR High School Diploma and 7+ years of Food Manufacturing production / operations reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.

• Computer Skills including Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

• Cheese/Dairy manufacturing highly preferred

• Skills (Preferred):

• Knowledge and expertise with Zeus Application high speed and high-volume dairy foods manufacturing processes and packaging related to cheese, butter, milk or related products desirable.

• Experience and career history with "Fortune 500" type companies strongly desired

Note: Typical hours for this role are 1st shift. However, start/finish times may vary. Occasional off shift hours, weekends and holidays will be required.
