How will you make an impact?

The candidate will be responsible for the performance of operations in support of the manufacture of Commercial and Clinical Biologics. He/She will be responsible for following Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and carrying out a variety of functions related to Upstream (cell culture) and Downstream (purification) biopharmaceutical manufacturing. These functions may include but are not limited to activities such as propagation of mammalian cell culture, conducting aseptic cell culture operations, execution of large scare production bioreactors (50L - 2000L), conducting large scale chromatography, viral inactivation, viral filtration, ultrafiltration and diafiltration, as well as aseptic filling of bulk drug substance.

What will you do?

  • Execution of manufacturing batch records, work instructions and/or SOPs, with minimal instruction on a day-to-day basis and a focus on proactive 'right the first time' executions. Assist with batch record reconciliation.

  • Assist in all Department functions, such as maintaining suite, supplies, equipment, logbooks and data in accordance with site SOPs and policies.

  • Documentation of all activities to meet cGMP requirements. Execute document reviews and revisions. Daily record review, tasks, and databases. Actively provide feedback.

  • Critical evaluation of processes, including foresight and thinking ahead.

  • Complete preventative maintenance and work notifications tasks on time. Perform equipment testing and routine trouble-shooting.

  • Ensure tasks are executed with a method of prioritization - interpret production schedules and complete tasks accordingly.

  • Perform timely consumption of materials and completion of quality documentation in appropriate systems

  • Identify deviations and aid in investigations/root cause analysis. Work to complete documentation of deviations and events in appropriate systems

How will you get here?

Education

High school degree required. Bachelor's degree in science or engineering preferred.

Experience

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in a related field or industry required

  • Experience in GMP environment preferred

Job Description: Under general supervision, perform repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities, or on machines and equipment. Typically perform work in one or more of the maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair, electrical, sheet metal fabrication, and welding. Conduct routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment. Use hand and power tools to test, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair machines and equipment. Use blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications. Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers. Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal, State and local regulations. Responsibilities: 1: Maintain and repair organization's facilities and properties involving routine tasks and responsibilities. Patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings. Repair or replace concrete floors, steps and sidewalks. Paint structures and equipment as needed. Install and correct minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and structural problems. Document installation and repairs as required by regulatory agencies. Install, operate and service boilers, chillers, motors, fans, pumps and related mechanical equipment. 2: May move and store furniture and equipment. 3: Estimate time and material costs of various projects. Requisition new supplies and equipment. 4: May plant and tend flowerbeds. Prune shrubs and trees to enhance growth and appearance, water lawns, shrubs and flowerbeds and spray fertilizer and insecticides. May rake and remove fallen leaves, sweep external walkways and staircases and may remove snow using power removal equipment or shovel. Apply snow-melting chemical when necessary on company roads, walkways and outside staircases. 5: May drive vehicle to other locations. 6: Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Scope: Full knowledge of job. Substantial acquaintance with and understanding of general aspects of the job. Contact within department and occasionally outside of organization. Qualifications: Education: High School or equivalent required. May require a trade license. Experience: Minimum 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
